As some of you when you read https://forums.minegoboom.com/viewtopic.php?p=36547&highlight=#36547 thought this is never going to be up, or he's crazy well I have changed somethings around and will have the server up on Halloween or a couple of days after that.
Here are the specs for the server.
- SBC DSL internet connection
- I just bought a new Wireless Modem that will support up to 10 computers so I might be able to set more servers up if any body needs to have there server hosted.
- I just replaced my CPU so I'll give the specs soon when I chill off of MGB saying I don't know anything about them
- 180 GB Hard drive
- I don't have the BUS stats with me. When I find out I'll edit this.
- 512 RAM
- Windows 2000 Server Pro
- The server will also be holding the web page
Server rules
- Biller will be provided
- If you have a AI Bot I will not allow more then 2 working at a time for lag reasons. Eliza is ok though. (As you should know that you should have Hardcore.Dll for killing problems)
- Can have no more than 7 bots for each zone
- Must have at least 1 ADMIN (Hopefully yourself)
- Must have at least 2 MODS
- DEV Zone will be provided or you can have it in a arena in the main zone if you want
- I will provide the spce for your bots or if you want to run them off your computer for private reasons that's ok too
- Must have a theme to the zone
- Must keep Pop. up
- NO Making fun or harrasing the staff of the server or MGB's forums.
If you have any questions, or ideas please post them. If you would like to be hosted please PM me DO NOT email me because I will be switching email once I get DSL.
I will also be hosting ASSS zones soon as SSDD-A once I set that server up (it will be on the same system)

Memory on the CPU? What do you mean?
Which webserver will you run? What extensions will it support? |

I know that but both of you used DSL a couple of times and when Psy used DSL with all those AI bots it was lagger then my 56k dial up lol. BTW I will only allow 1 or 2 AI bots if you made one (NO hardcore.dll) but the AI Eliza you can use as many bots as you want. |

I've never had a DSL connection ever in my house. We've always had an 8mb up/dn stream connection after we switched from 56K dialup. |

Man, if you're going to get a T3 connection at your house (highly unlikely) just get a dedicated server. It'll probably run you a bit less than paying for a T3 connection.
As for your rules, I think it's a bit too tyranical. Most zone admins won't be comfortable with them. |

lol rules are for rulers anyways how can I change them so you like them that's why I posted the mto fix the bugs out of things. I'm trying to make my server have as much possible freedom with out giving them access to shut every thing down which no body wants that to happen. Also yes I'm getting T3 or T1 if can get it. I have the money for it easily besides continuum isn't the only thing I do I host sites and have more then just one server buddy (4). |

- Intel Pent. 4 (yes it has memory on the CPU. I might upgrade though)
- Windows 2000 Server Pro
- Must have a Main Arena Bot for help, Lag check, and what ever you need it for the theme (maybe uses the Cred Dll)
- Must have at least 1 SMOD/2 MODS
- I will not accept some cray number of sub-arenas like 150 (no more that 55 AT MAX)
- NO Making fun or harrasing the staff of the server or MGB's forums.

My complaints, listing in order:
- You have no idea how a wireless network works.
- You have no idea how of processor or the internal parts of a computer works.
- I doubt you paid for it.
- Why must this be a requirement? Its a nice idea, but a requirement?
- Why these numbers? A smod/2 mods does nothing special. Why couldn't 4 mods handle this instead? Or two smods? Or 19 normal players with bot powers to silence/spec/ban players?
- How often does a zone with <50 population really need to worry about >50 subarena files just sitting there? Back when I collected maps, I got up to 500+ and it only takes ~60meg, which is insignificant in total's hard drive sizes.
- Ummm, what? The only user who did something like this was banned for being a complete idiot (still is, just less vocal), not just because he was harassing someone else.
All my other complaints have been handled by others. |

Memory on the CPU for files? That sounds interesting, though, MGB.
How are you paying your T3 connection? Did you sell lemonade on the streets?

Here are my answers back to your coment, and please don't assume I don't know how the internal parts of a coputer work. I have have been taking a couple of College computer classes as a freshmen and you pretty much have to explain the whole computer system.
1.I don't know how a wirless network works but here's how my Modem will work. The Modem will be inside the server like a regular modem and hooks up to the phone jack too. There is a wirless signal that is sent out from that modem to a reciver in each of my other computers.
2.As I explain above I don't know how exactly a CPU works but I know it's the brains of the computer and that as we reach the futar the chips get smaller and are able to fit more memory on a CPU for faster reaching from it's self. The CPU's memory is just anouther cache.
3. No I didn't pay for it I got the server from a friend that set it up for me (KFT)
4.I'll take that off then
5.Alright I'm changing it to 1 SYSOP and at least 2 MODS
6. Taking this completely off I thought it was stupid myself I just wanted to set a example.
7. I just want people to give you respect since your the provider of Subgame. |

A DSL connection, especially wireless, isn't a good thing to have when running a server. You have a high chance of packetloss and possibly some interference with other devices if your router can't handle it. I'd recommend wiring your server and upgrading to at least T1 speeds. |

I think I'll just get the server it's own modem and take the $250 I just payed for for only $50 and use that only on my PC's. As I said I can't get T1 yet in my area I'll just wait intill I can get it. |

I'm sure cable modems have surpassed T1 speeds. My friend's cable line goes about 3.5mb/s both upstream and down. |

*bangs head on desk* You Just Told Me To Get T1 And Now Your Telling Me Cable Is Better Then T1. I highly doubt that the day will come when Cable is better then T1 espiecaly T3, Or will be faster then Satalite Connection (though alot cheaper and stable). |

You should know this if you're going to be a server host.
Maybe what I said about cable being faster than T1 is only true in the metropolitan areas (like where I live). I'm not sure about your cable company. |
