The server uses it, but only when names are not validated. So when your not connected to a billing server, it blocks normal logins from those names. A recommendation would be to put all smod/sysops in your reserved.txt, that way no one can use those names without giving a smod/sysop password during their login. Thats what reserved.txt is for.
BTW, messages won't be deleted so other users can do a search on the forums for "reserved.txt", see these posts, and get answers to questions they are about to ask. Anyways, this is a good way to tell people what this file does, since most people arn't sure. |
