Well, the old topic got a little bit spammed methinks, but after many server changes, we're on a reliable server with a bit of pop growth.

The zone's still under development (not as in unfinished - plugins are being added to bots, LVZ changed, more minor stuff), but it's still fun.

We're getting about 10+ average now, although it goes from 3 to almost 20..

Because of the fact that zone owners were creating unstable plugins, crashing their bots and the bots were consuming 100% cpu thus causing all the zones to lag. On top of that, I had to spend a vast amount of time just restarting them (I had them set as a service however they crashed so in this case there was no auto-restarting).

Due to all of that, I removed the bots from the server. I'm not sacraficing my personal time for zone owners unstable bots. db doesn't own the server, nor does he have any influence whatsoever. The mere fact that I host zones at all should be enough. There is no "requirements" for zone hosts. It's our servers..we can host whatever we want. Especially since nobody is charging them for hosting.

Even on SSCU, Priit doesn't host bots. 17th parallel has been hosting their own bots for years. All of TW's bots are run by DoCk> from his house. kewlair has been running his twcore for Red Star (in which I host) for 2 years now.

My personal time > Subspace bots. That's what it comes down to.

What would I do? Im not DM/TB99/That guy that owned SSU ffs. I made a simple post stating that I was willing to help, just stfu and accept it. I dont have to waiste the server resources on you, but I am willing, no? Just as you are willing to host zones, I am willing to host the bots that you do not. Im doing a favor, im not getting a reward out of this, no? You people are...err! You frustate me soo much, it is truly time for MGB Forums to be taken down, untill the ignorance of the posters is gone.

I offer my assistance, you accept it or dont. Dont sit there and say "OMGerz, Confess made a post, lets flame him even though he is willing to help ME!" Accept, or dont.

I propose all post directed towards a flame, in ANY way, should be instantly deleted. 'Keepin it clean'

uh huh, zone owners are going to give you bots (with bot and sysop passwords in the spawns.txt, i might add) so you can help them by using yet another little attempt to gain power in a FREE ONLINE GAME... HA!

What kind of power..would I get from hosting bots..that I would WANT? The only thing I truly urge for is for my zone to prosper..but while doing so, I believe that others should be helped too.

anyone that hosts a bot or even has just the spawn.txt can easily gain sysop access to the zone, with alittle brain power... hmm, maybe you could safely host bots...
