MervBot can do more than twcore, specifically, it's able to download files, provide proper checksum values to the server not requring to be staff to enter a zone - if proper zone settings allow it (allowing VIE clients).

Sure, but from the point of functionability, I'd rather have the ability to download/upload files, etc.

TWCore does download files. That's how it gets the staff lists. I assume it can upload as well, though I've never looked into it.

That by the way, is one of the reasons it needs staff in a zone. Normal players aren't allowed to *getfile sysop.txt.

Afaik, it didn't download files; because it was missing checksum algorithms that I was looking for. :shrug:

I dont really think a tortoise/hare comparison is very accurate. Perhaps the TWCore is easier to use, but its by no means 'faster' nor does it have more features =P

It is cross-platform compatible though...

Who cares about bots? ASSS is the future of servers for this game anyway.

I'm not sure about TWCore's features compared to MERVBot's, but you people whine too much about the differences.

Wow! TWCore could run on Linux because it's Java!
MERVBot can run on Linux too, but why would you care, BD. You're too stupid to run Linux anyway.

TWCore is better than MERV. I've used both, and I know.

As for ASSS, it's a replacement in the same way that transatlantic airplanes replaced ocean liners. There's really no comparison.
