K
The most I've done was replace gfx..meaning I just made a different graphic in the place of an old graphic..
So I never really had to grid..

So I need someone to explain to me how to seperate a sprite, so that it would look right in game..

Zim told me a while ago, that they gave to be even.

Thanks in Advance!

I used to be into GFX quite a bit. The nicest program I almost always used for sprite anim was Ulead Gif Animator 5. I'll leave it up to you to find a free copy.

If im correct all graphics are done in pixel's 8 x 8 "i think" someone here will know for sure, but anyways when making a animated image for ss you need a image like this one that I made for bak's zone, I added frame lines so you can see each frame and made a gif so you can see how it will look in ss.... open it in a good photo program and you can see the measuments.

Image setup to work in SS

Map tiles are 16x16. All other graphics can be any size. Graphics with "frames" can be any size as long as the width/height proportions remain the same.

thanks... i couldn't remember if it was 8x8 or 16x16.. was to lazy to check

What I was really trying to say about the graphics is that when you make a animated graphic for ss you want to make sure every frame is the same size... you dont want a 3 frame graphic and the 1st frame be 50 pixels wide but the other 2 be 60 pixels... you will end up with the images not lineing up right in ss and sometimes the sides of 1 frame showing up in the wrong frame... if that makes any since

It is impossible to make the frames different sizes. When Cont loads a framed image it calculates the fixed frame size from the full image size. For example, a bomb image file is 10 frames horizontally and 13 frames vertically. No matter what image size you create, the width is divided by 10 and the height is divided by 13. All frames will be the same.
