Make sure you have the correct drivers for your keyboard. Also check the Keyboard settings in the Control Panel _________________ SSE Network Administrator |

Windows comes with default drivers, if you have a special keyboard (like one with weird www buttons) you might have to install the driver manually |

Shift+ctrl can change the keyboard layout if that setting is enabled (and multiple keyboard layouts are listed in the settings). Sometimes I'd accidentally press it and switch back to the Qwerty layout. Maybe this is happening to you?
This gets set in Regional and Language settings, or Language and Regional settings, or whatever they're called. |

still doesn't work. im currently using the 'logitech' multi-tools keyboard, with buttons on the keyboards such as email, messender, webcam, my home, volue control, and etc...
it's funny because i have tried uninstalling the keyboard [itouch program] several times, and re-installing it without any success. i have also discovered that my 'numlock' doesn't work either.
lemme know if you have any idea on how to resolve this problem of mine. |

How much time and effort are you willing to spend on this problem? If you have any job, your time is money, and you'd be better off just buying a new keyboard. They aren't exactly expensive. One is listed at this site for $3.99. With shipping it's less than $10. That one is probably squishy crap, though. |

Chances are its just some liquid causing a short. pull out a screw driver and a paper towel, crack the keyboard open, dry any water spots you see, put it back together.
Its happened to me on several occasions, because part of me never learned how to drink from a cup. |

Just pop the keys all off and soak the thing in the bath for a few hours. Give it a day to dry, put the keys back on and you'll be golden. _________________ Hyperspace Owner

Or just saw it in half and try typing with it in two pieces. I think that'll work as well as Brain's. _________________ This help is informational only. Haven't you ever taken a computer maintenance class Cyan? Slipping that sticky keyboard into the dishwasher is perfectly safe. I usually take mine into the backyard and hose it off every couple months, just make sure its completely dry before you plug it back in. |

Yah, soaking KBs is the best way to clean them. You can't do it with laptop keyboards, but that's all.
And yes, make sure it's dry, like muskrat said.
It's perfectly safe, as long as you don't do something stupid like leave it plugged into the computer. |

Well, some keyboards that wouldnt work to well with...Mine in particular. The 3 plastic sheets/'circut board things' hold any moisture like a ...container that would contain moisture indefinately... which also breaks a large number of my keys.
...bah... cant think of any good similies today. |

If there is electricity flowing through it, yes. Hopefully you're not stupid enough to put the KB under water while plugged in. |

I knew it wouldn't harm it electronically, but I figured the material they use for the actual key button might get damaged by the water. I guess I was wrong. |

I think dishwashing might damage a keyboard because of the temperatures involved. Also what about bits of debris getting stuck across electrical connections when it's drying out? |
