This is a mere copy of what I had posted in another phpBB forum, so the context in which it was writen was for another group of people. But the information presented is rather... for everyone
Patches security releated issues; as well as.. I'm not sure. I didn't get a chance to read the change-log; but everyone should update accordingly. You can accomplish this by going to mozilla.org; or an icon in firefox will appear alerting you to an update availability; and/or goto tools->options->advanced->software update make sure both check boxes are checked (software upgrades & extensions).
edit:
http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-1.0.1&os=win&lang=en-US
^-- download link for Windows / English, etc.

That Internation Domain Names issue is being fixed with this release; it won't allow that one website spoofing hole to work anymore. _________________ Performance is often the art of cheating carefully. - James Gosling |

What spyware... It's a graphical notifier that an update is available from Mozilla.org... o.o
And for those who don't know, Firefox, etc. products won't automatically install things. First you have to allow that site the permission to download extentions/themes; however, the trusted mozilla website is on that list automatically by default (i think). And also when you goto download such files, extensions, themes, you have to wait 5 seconds, it won't let you just click "OK" - this stops accidental clicking.
I think it's cool. but w/e. I normally have the periodic checking disabled; but again, its upto you. |
