ASSS is a great choice for a zone starting out if the zone owner knows how subgame works. As long as the zone only has a few players, you will probably never have to worry about the bigger bugs that ASSS still has, and by the time you do get to be a big zone, they will have all been worked out.

Well I have the choice of linux or Windows xx any type of windows. I think im gonna go with Win98. It is alot better for hosting a server of any type on a windows os. So yeah dark_mistress I am not gonna use Linux. And when I am done I will only host 5-8 servers and you must have at lease 4 players in at all times for it to stay up but I will give you a 3 week grace period to get people to play and i will not start hosting until your zone is to working standards like having all of your lvz, lvl, bots and everything. Bots do not count for the 4 players. Unlike NTC this is will a good host. No requirments that are hard to get to on a new zone.

Win2000 is the best Windows for hosting anything. Use it, not Win98.

I highly recommend Linux over windows. You dont need to run your own billing as SSI can give you that. ASSS can handle Linux (as ASSS is designed for Linux)

Windows98 Second edition is the best windows OS for gaming, but I would think an NT would be better for serving.
