Whats the best thing to use to make your own tilesets? Using MS paint is a royal pain in the ass...
Also, whats a good program to make 3d ships for shipsets? |

I asked about tiles at SFN (ssforum.net), I would suggest Photo Shop for tiles as Paint Shop is lacking in some of its features. |

Adobe Photoshop is another good one. I'd say Adobe for 3d ships as well. Poke your nose around the site a bit, and you'll probably stumble over a post with a link directing you to a plug-in that you would use inside of Adobe Photoshop to aid in the creation of 3d ships. |

of course for uber-3d, you should download bryce 5 or 3d studio max off kazaa lite, find/make a model and render at appropriate angles

Or for a more legal, and portable, means, try Gimp. Open source, and very good. |
