I'm guessing 'pages' is new topics, otherwise files + pages doesn't quite add up to hits. I find it hard to believe attachments have been downloaded 20,000+ times during January as well. Maybe that graph is for shanky.com too as it is on the same server?

Pages = number of times a page was loaded from the server. Since almost everything stays in the viewthread.php and such, it doesn't add up very much.

Files = everytime someone has to download a new thing. Such as viewing a new thread, downloading an image, etc.

Hits = everytime someone checks to see if they need to download something. Since almost everyone already got the images, they usually don't need to re-download them, thus it only adds into hits.
