 |
|
|
|
I decided to have a go at creating a zone and a Map
So I have setup a server as per the instructions at
http://www.shanky.com/server/howto-zone/index.html
Everything so far without a hitch. The problem I have is that
my test server is showing in the list but it is RED so I can't connect to it.
I have opened up tcip ports 7500 (My Server) and ports 4991 and 185
but I still doesn't show as green.
Are there any other tcip ports or Udp ports I should be opening up to my machine ?
Any sugestions |

| You need port 7501 to make the zone appear green (the ping and player count port). I'm not sure why you have 185 open (unless that is the biller). |

Tried that it didn't make any difference
I also set the machine ip in the dmz to make it bypass the nat boz altogether. no difference
I did try and set it up in a lan configuration, and although it does show up as green i still can't connect to it |

In the lan configuration I notice that the subgame2 window
shows
Sun Aug 31 16:17:26: Client connection request from billing server ignored
Sun Aug 31 16:17:36: Client connection request from billing server ignored
Sun Aug 31 16:17:47: Client connection request from billing server ignored
When I try to connect. Is this something I should be looking at ? |

| You can run without the biller like this: "subgame2.exe /nb" (make a shortcut and edit, or a .bat file). |

Ok I think I should clarify the current configuration.
The original purpose of the setup is so I can design and test maps & bots etc
I have now set it up as a lan server .....
Sub billing.ini (Se Previous Post)
I gather that the billing server is not required for a lan config.
Server ini extracts - other areas as default
[Directory]
IP=sscentral.ds98.com,sscentral.subspace.inet.fi,sscentral.subspace.net,sscentral.subspacehq.com
Description=Alphakey Test Zone ss://192.168.1.11
//What you want to have for the description of zone
NamePassword=anything
//Pick anything you want
Port=4991
[Billing]
LogMessages=0
IP=192.168.1.11
Password=billpassword
//What is the billing pw in the subbill.ini
ServerName=alphakey
//Zone name
Port=900
ServerId=7500
//Make the same as in [Misc] Port=
GroupId=1
ScoreId=7500
//Make the same as in [Misc] Port=
ReconnectTime=12000
AttemptTime=6400

Sorted. The answer is
If you are Running the Billing Server on the same Computer from that you are trying to Connected you will get that Error.
To get it to work put "localhost" in the Billing Section and not 127.0.0.1
In the zone.dat make sure that you use 127.0.0.1 there and not the same as In the Billing Section, they need to be different |

These are the (only?) directory servers that seem to be working:
[Directory]
IP=sscentral.subspace.inet.fi,sscentral.ssihosting.com,sscentral.sscuservers.net |
