 |

Ok, lets pretent that I have everything for my zone ready to be hosted and someon said they'd host me on thier server,
1. Would I just give them all my modified server files in the server.zip I d/led and my level.lvz and all they'd have to do is keep the subgame2 and subbill.xex running 24/7 and then my zone would basically be hosted?
2. When I need to update my zone, lie news and a new level, do I just need to send them the updated file and they'd just stop subbilll and subgame and then rerun them and my zone would be updated, or would they put the updated files in the update folder where the newest version of continuum is, or would they do something different?
Thanks in advance for answering these |

ya, you can probably just give them all the files and they should be able to sort out what they need (or ask them specifically what files to send beforehand)

most likely you just need to make sure you are setup as sysop of the zone
with sysop powers you can update files without having direct access to the server

I think it's "*putfile news.txt", you can change news.txt to the map/cfg/lvz name too. Changing the map of an arena will kick everyone in it once it has uploaded.
Make sure you are in spec and have sysop powers before trying to upload. |

And just for your convenience:
While you're running your server at home (which you probably will before you get a host), just put the files in the server directory, and subgame2 will automatically update the settings.
Except: updating the public .lvl file. You need to *recycle for that. (Maybe there's other files?) _________________ This help is informational only. When you're logged in as sysop, you can type *recycle. It has the same effect of closing subgame2 and reopening it. |

Ahh that brings up a new question, how do I log on as a sysop/set my username as a sysop? |

In server.ini you set the sysop password. Type *sysoppass in game, or add *sysoppass to the end of your continuum user password. _________________ Hyperspace Owner
