Just wanted to share a screenshot. I had photoshop, i just never use it so i didnt know it had png

Hey, would you look at that? PNGCrush makes png's even smaller, without losing a single pixel.

BTW: I usually "crush" most of the uploaded images, as in the long run, it helps slowly save space. This time, i'm just showing how much of a size difference it makes by leaving both up.

hey miney... i went to that site, clicked download at the top. it took me to a site with a bunch of different pngcrush d/ls and i didnt know what to get so i just clicked on the 5.10 zip file... which took me to a page where i chose a server... i clicked on one and it took me to that server's HP... dude if its not too hard, whats the direct download link?

btw the crushed image is a bit dimmer.

PNGCrush-1.5.10-DOS-MMX.zip

Extract the pngcrush.exe file to some place, like your C:\Windows\System32 folder (so you can use the exe file from anywhere).

Download the below .zip file. In it, it contains two registry hacks to use PNGCrush with. The one with win2k in the file name assumes you copied the .exe file to your C:\WINNT\System32 folder, while the winxp one assumes its is located in your C:\Windows\System32 folder. Use the correct one for your OS.

Next, right click ANY .png file, and select the Open With. Go find your pngcrush.exe located in your \system32 folder, and click ok (do NOT check the "always use this program", as you'd probably rather keep your image editor for that). It will open a dos prompt, print out some funky numbers you can ignore, and onced finished, will have a new file named BLAH-crushed.png. Rename that to whatever you want, it is now better or equal in size to the original png.

Don't understand the above? Then don't do it. Its doubtful you'd want to save ~5k on average for images.

And FudLe Pucker, those images are exactly the same. Do a color differance between the two in any good image editor, and it will show that they are identical in display.

Actually, i like how it is. I've gotten used to it, as i've probably downloaded atleast 50 different apps from there within the last month alone.

Also, moved to Trash Talk, as this has little/nothing to do with servers.

umm.. mines.. i d/led all that stuff. I extracted the pngcrush into /system32 and i also extracted the 2 files inside the hack.zip into /system32. then i opened my png with the exe. It opened a dos window, and said bunch of stuff about the author... It didnt make a new crushed png, wtf?

well actually, i did open it.. it said "import file <some file>?" i clicked yes. Then it said "cannot import <some file> because it is not yada yada yada"
