Ok I'm going to change the bot min to 1 just to for security or just to attrack more ppl useing a rank and creds and I'm changeing the sub arena min to 2 this could be any thing whcih should be simple like elim and duel. I'm also requireing a DEV zone for each arena (since Purge told me what a DEV zone is ) and the reason why I'm useing win 2000 is because I heard a bit XP server isn't that good. But we just might change since alot of ppl are now useing it. We are also putting up FTP access and we might put up SQL.
Here are our stats a little better in detail
*Dell XPS Personly Redid (It took the warrenty out of it but at least it's better)
*Windows 2000 server Pro
*Intel Pentium III Processor
*Satlite Direct Modem
*250 GB Hard Drive
*256 MB SDRAM
*can have up to 10 bots (can not have more then 3 AI bot)
*22/5 reliable support right now intill we get more staff
*We're going to run it off of SSDD Billing
*2 hour back power supplie with surge protector (the thing is the size of a car battery:P) |

2000 is awesome.
Also, you guys and your big HDDs. Are you actually going to let any zone use any more than 50MB? _________________ This help is informational only. I'm letting each zone use up to 3 GM so it won't be a progmlem for memory space for any body that has a zone on our server. |

3GB is a pretty large amount just for a Continuum zone. |

Well, with 10 MERVBots... each with 5 plugins... it'll need it all for swap space |

Really we're going to have tree servers one for the zone server, one for the billing, and one for the bots so it dosen't lag the zone server.
so really the reallt reason why we have a big max memory is if you have so many zones like tw that your just sub arena crazy like I am . |

You don't need a separate server for the biller. As long as you use catid's biller, it won't use many system resources at all. With your bot-crazy setup, I'd suggest throwing the biller with the subgames, since the MERVs will most likely be using more resources. |

SSI runs their own biller that is open to anyone; just join on rather than making a ton of micro-biller-networks which mean nothing. Give up your almighty-power hunger, and live with a LVL0 group-op (or w/e)... _________________ Performance is often the art of cheating carefully. - James Gosling |

pfft, the only reason for having more than ssc and ssi is that people are greedy powermongers and don't want to settle for somebody else being in charge _________________

Indeed. Purge, I'm definitely at a different location from SSI's servers, and yet I run off SSI billing. Really, it makes the entire billing system far more worth it if multiple hosts use one biller. Why the heck do group ops exist anyway? |

It's there if anyone needs or wants it. I don't try to make them use it though. They have the right to run their own billing if they want to.
I do agree that having a bunch of scattered billers is silly. The big thing keeping SSC players off non-SSC zones is the fact that all the zones aren't connected and they can't chat to anyone else. But, trying to unite servers is pointless because nobody wants to use the same biller. Others have tried and failed due to uncooperative server ops. |

Well, there's no way to force a fellow host to switch over, but you can dispel myths such as insecurity and inability to do it in the first place. |

Yeah, I understand what you mean about too many billers. However, doesn't SSC look for quality servers that they can add their biller to? |
