Completely new map with more lvz work then any zone I have ever seen and I've been around for a few years now. I had made the old map 2 years ago using only notepad, ssme and buildlevel. I have learn'd alot since then and am lucky enough to have collected a few programs that help'd in the development of this new map. I spent about 30 hours on this map in the last week. Anyway check it out!

Someone still needs to make better lvz placing tools! Even with the placer I had to do most of the shit in notepad!

CLIT is ok and I use it but it does not eliminate the need for using buildlevel and notepad. 55cent is not head sysop. Learn more about what your trying to insult before making the insult, Chambahs. If someone has a respect issue with me they can go fuck themselves.

sorry, got tied up with head smod/sysop, its still silly, and what is there to be jealous of? that you have 10 bots as your pop and 2 afk staffers? lol or am i jealous about how much you have your staff advertise about your zone? anyway, enough of the bickering, good luck on your zone...

My roofs, floors and few other things that I wont get into details about could not be done using CLIT. Well they could but it would of been more work using CLIT then it would of been using notepad and buildlevel. When I was doing my floors of the buildings I had to set a certain patern over and over in only a certain area and it had to line up to each pixel so I made the images 100x100 so I could easily add 100 to the x and y and tile it out left to right then top to bottom and replace the edges with a different image so they blend. If CLIT wants to improve itself there are a few suggestions I have that would really make it perfect for basicly anyones needs. Here are my suggestions.

Deleting a image takes to damn much work. Make it so you can just press the delete key once an image is selected to delete the image.

Use BMP instead of PNG images because PNG makes the filesize alot bigger in the end once it is built into a lvz. (Shows the coders truely haven't ever done any lvz work)

Once you place an image it needs to be easier to move it. I suggest you simply select a image and press the up/down/left and right arrows keys.

The above would make CLIT everything SS needs in a lvz editor. This is advice by someone who's probably done more lvz work then anyone.


A snap feature would be nice. So the image snaps to the initial point of the tiles cords. Would be good for replacing a tile with an image like I had to do for the transparent tiles that are for some dumbass reason on a layer above the AfterTiles and AfterShips. In order to do my roofs I had to replace a 16x16px tile with a 16x16px image because of this.

You can press the delete key to delete lvz objects. Are you sure you're using the latest version?

No? lvz uses zlib compression (the same compression PNG uses) so any bitmap would be at best the size of a PNG. Nonetheless, if you are sure of this please attach an example bmp file - lvz and the cooresponding png file - lvz so I can look into it further.

FYI, I used CLIT to make a background grass for a map and it only took me a minute or two to tile the entire background (about half of the 1024x1024 map) using the snap to tile option. For floors in building it was much faster than doing it by hand, and this was one of my reasons for starting to work on something like CLIT. For roofs you could just add the roof then save it and remove the .lvz file so it doesn't cover up your tiles so you can continue working on the building. This would just be a workaround until I get layers in though.

I do not have the latest version aparently. Last time I tried to check there website it wasn't even there. I recently did some tests to make sure bmps compress less and it all depends on what bmp format you use. I did a screenshot of my screen then built it using your program then using bmp and the lvz was only .5 kb bigger. Thank you for bringing this to my attention I will be sure to encourage the use of pngs. However there are some ways to use bmps to make the lvz smaller but when continuum opens it up it would take up alot more of there computers memory. I am now converting my files to PNGS because of this.

There is a program called TiledMajik to do backgrounds for the entire map. I was speaking more about only specific areas not the entire map. That snap to tile feature would of been extremely helpful. You should eliminate the need for TiledMajik and have a feature to tile your entire background the same way there program works.


Purge no one has show'd me anything on asss that cannot be done on subgame. When someone shows me a reason to change that is worth losing all my plugins over I might change. Someone could make a module that let you use mervbot plugins then if asss is stable for 20-50 poeple I would switch.
