So, as some of you know, i'm trying to make a ctf zone. Since the bot is pure trash and doesn't work at all, I decided to do it another way.
I just put two turf flags in two bases. Edited the settings so players can cary both flags. Got a flagmover plugin for Mervie, so the flags could only be dropped in any of the flagrooms... Result?
First of all, dropped flags disappear (yes i dropped them in fr). When they try to reappear, the victory music plays for a second and the flag disappears again and the whole thing happens again. I'm guessing this is the flagmover's doing but i don't know why.
Ok I removed the FM plugin from the bot. I collect both flags. type in ?flags. See "Fudle (2), uncarried flags 2" (and MaxFlags=2). And it's actually correct. I am holding both flags, but an extra two flags appear in the flagroom. When i take any of them, i automatically drop them and they immediatly reappear in the old spot. Now remember, I still hold two flags on me.
I put Mode=2 (turf mode) so the turf flags will be where i put them (how else can i have a ctf game without a bot). So is this a universal glitch or just something that happens only to me...

Simple, you are using turf mode, and the flag-moving bot doesn't read the .lvl for flag coords. In my old core, I added that ability so you can see where certain turf flags are located, but I doubt merv reads .lvl for flag coords when dealing with a turf map.
Also, I crushed your png file for you. 13,671 -> 5,353 bytes (60% smaller size)

i still dont get how you use that crush thingie.
So there is no way I can have a CTF zone... cuz... zero programmin skills... the bot doesn't work at all... non-bot way glitches like hell... SIGH!!! this really sucks! Every zone i built ends up like this... map done, sets done, except the main purpose cant be worked out...

| Could always buy a simple C/C++ programming book to get the basics.

I see your pain Fudle. I'm still having trouble getting someone to mod a warp bot to fit what I need to do in my zone... but eh, if I can't, I geuss I'll just forget all the long hours of work I put into it and shut it down.

Sorry, just trying to convince you learning C++ while programming bot plugins is nearly suicidal .
Errr sorry I, I know I told you I'd do it, but I've been too frickin busy with school (stupid homework, gets in the way of SS).

you guys need to buddy up with a bot maker
I'm pretty close with a few, but I never need bots
I think you can make plugins for Merv using Visual Basic
there's a tutorial or something at mervbot.com and another thing at dueling.net/MERVbot_tutorial.html
and I've barely looked into C++, but I believe it is called "C" because a popular programming language before it was called "B" and a plus for each significant update (sure Mine or Smong or somebody can clarify all this if you care)

| Only 6 times? I've changed the very aspect that made my zone interesting over a dozen times! This one WILL work, but there's no bot, so I'm probably just gunna kill my whole "zone-making" hobby.

FudLe Pucker, there are CTF bots already out there, I would concentrate on getting a host that already has a CTF bot (but I guess subarenas don't sound attractive?).
I think I'll go along with what Akai said about C, things could get a little complicated (especially if SOS posts).
