I set up a virtual server on my router so I could run a subspace server on my computer. I can get in my zone fine, but it shows up red on the zone menu. I disabled the protocol filter on my router but still no luck. How would I set up my router to allow the packets or whatever that send that data? |

I think you just need to enable port forwarding on the directory port. Cant remember 195 or something.

In your server.ini file, find the [Misc] Port=#. Say for example it was 1000. On your router, set two ports (if it asks between TCP/UDP, its UDP) to forward to your computer. The first would be 1000, the second would be 1001.
Why? [Misc] Port is where your zone actually runs and talks with people. But that port number, plus one, is where clients talk to zones asking how many people are in there. Thats how the original programmer designed it, and thats how its still done. |
