I've read lots of docs, but everithin i read was very short..

So:

1) How to specify a password for staff? in http://wiki.minegoboom.com/index.php/Server_Setup
i've just read about how to make groups and permissions... How to be sure no1 enter with my pwd?

2) I've made new $asss_home/arenas/test/arena.conf file - and i can enter this arena by ?go test command, but this anera is not listed when esk-a pressed... only public 1 is listed there..
I've seen (public) directory and readme file there.. it said i have to place "files" here to make arenas public.. what files i need to put there?

so this is 2 first questions..

*ahh im using asss 1.4.2

1.) Don't use passwords, just have Genrik = sysop in the [(global)] section.

2.) Try ?arena -a

The ASSS comands cheatsheet:

Yes, ty, that helped, but still question about how to make zone visible to all by esk-a

Quote:
2.) Try ?arena -a

I can see all my arenas by this command, but what should i do to make all of them visible to all players in their menu?
When i use ?makearena newar - that just create a new 1, but it's still in ?arena -a, but not in ?arena ...

Arenas don't appear if they are empty. (ie have no players)

this behavior is by design.

Normally there has to be at least one player in an arena for it to show up on the arena list for the arena to show up.

It would be possible i imagine to modify asss to display all the arenas, even if they are empty.

I may be wrong on some of what i just said but this is my understanding.

And another 1 question - is there a simple and quick method to see all of .lvl files i uploaded to the server?
Or i need to install them manually by making .conf files and dirs? It can be done by script, but maybe there is something spesial for this?
There are lots of archive files on subspacedownloads.com, and each archive contains lots of maps..
how to quick see them all and choose one which i like?

you could use a map editor, such as DCME or CLT.

as for arenas showing up even when no one's in them, you can spawn fake players in arenas and let them sit in spec, the arena will show up in esc + a with 0 players in it. Read the user guide to see how to make this happen.

Or just make the arena command think that it's always passed a -a. This would be much simpler, and would allow you to still use things like ?recyclearena.

Hmm! So strange...
I've done the steps what were described here https://forums.minegoboom.com/viewtopic.php?t=1483 , but nothing happens.

I want to make a zone like DSB or trench, but whatever I tryed to do, the flags did not come into arena

I used map editor and placed them into map. But when i enter zone - there is a blank place there...

Here's my flags.conf file:
Code: Show/Hide

[Flag]

; client-side stuff
; FlaggerOnRadar=1
; FlaggerKillMultiplier=2
; FlaggerGunUpgrade=1
; FlaggerBombUpgrade=1
; FlaggerFireCostPercent=1000
; FlaggerDamagePercent=1000
; FlaggerBombFireDelay=0
; FlaggerSpeedAdjustment=0
; FlaggerThrustAdjustment=0
CarryFlags=0
; FlagDropDelay=3000
; FlagDropResetReward=0
; EnterGameFlaggingDelay=1000
; FlagBlankDelay=200
; NoDataFlagDropDelay=500

; new server settings

; GameType = $FLAGGAME_BASIC
FlagCount = 3

; ;;;
MaxFlags=3
FlagMode=2

FlagReward=15000
; SplitPoints=0

; ResetDelay=1440000
; FriendlyTransfer=0

; SpawnX = 512
; SpawnY = 488
; SpawnRadius = 1

; DropRadius = 2
; NeutRadius = 10

; DropOwned = 1
; NeutOwned = 0

Whats wrong?

With asss you need to load the appropriate flag module. For turf you need pymod and fg_turf (have a look in modules.conf, uncomment these so they load). In your arena.conf add fg_turf to the attach modules setting.

If you have problems with pymod and turf have a look at other threads for the solution.

cPickle isn't loaded, which is used by the python persist module, which is used in turn by the turf module (for keeping track of scores I assume). Update your version of python to the newest one and the problem should go away.
