About 6 months ago I was looking at all the visual studios, from MS. And I noticed something called C#. I looked at several definitions, and most of them say MS just created it as a hybrid of BASICs and C++, along with their .NET Framework. But a couple of months after that, I was looking at colleges for a CS (BS) degree. I found in a school, called neumont university, out by Salt Lake city, Utah. It held a IMB track and a MS track, but for it's MS track, they were all C# classes. I talked to the councilor there, and he told me that they don't have any C++ classes, because C# is now replacing C++. I don't really know if this is true, but if some one could clarify this for me, I would be grateful. |

Yeah, a lot of colleges are having to dump their Java courses now and re-instate C++ because Java was supposed to replace C++. Turns out Java isn't even a real programming language and is really just coffee. But, I suppose the two are almost inseparable for a lot of programmers. |

It was a joke, get over it. But what I said about colleges was true; a lot of colleges replaced their C++ courses with Java because they thought it would become the industry standard, and now that Java is losing popularity, they are going back to C++ courses. |

Brain was born deprived of any sense of humour, forgive him.
blah-er, perhaps what your counselor meant be that C# courses will be replacing C++.
Not that I understand why they would like to teach you variants or previous versions to C++... |

I passed right over your joke. I'm saying that you don't know what you're talking about as far as reasons go. |

Why would C# be replacing C++ instead of Java? For concepts, Java and C# are pretty much the same, so as far as learning general programming, I would think that C++ & C# would be more valuable than Java and C#.
Of the three I would prefer to learn C++ and Java, for the record.. |

Yea I agree. I started out with Java. I did some C++. I like them both. I don't mind what programming language someone uses. I personally would like the one that takes less time to create what you want to create but with good results. Sometimes this is java, sometimes it's C++. Both have thier purposes. Java for web-games, C++ for non-browser based games. I'd like to stop seeing a feud between Java and C++. Maybe A feud between python and basic. Hehe. |

That's worth a BS degree right there. _________________ This help is informational only. No representation is made or warranty given as to its content. User assumes all risk of use. Cyan~Fire assumes no responsibility for any loss or delay resulting from such use.

what? no. The ideal programming language would just understand english and make a working program. that's what they need to make and teach _________________ SubSpace Discretion: A Third Generation SubSpace Client |
