Server Help

After spending some money on upgrades, I have a decent bit of hardware lying around. I want to co-locate my box somewhere, and perhaps offer hosting.

So I guess this needs to be broken down into two questions -
. - How much bandwidth is necessary to be a decent host?
. - How much would that cost me?

Foxconn FXME-661
Intel Celeron D 325 (2.53GHz, 256k L2 Cache)
Kingston 512MB ECC RAM
Geforce FX5200 (AGP 8x)
ASUS DVD-ROM
WDC 160GB HDD (ATA-100)

It would probably be cheaper for you to get a Nix server from http://serverpronto.com for 30-40$/m then it would be for you to colocate, then if you want to host Subgame you can use Wine. Colocation can be expensive, I wouldnt colocate unless you really needed too. However, as far as zone hosting goes...the only thing we have a shortage of is Nix AS3 hosting, but few people want AS3 hosting.

Given the fact that it is just a computer made from spare parts, and is not the same as a "server", theres no garuntee on the stability. Colocation repairs can be $50 per hour or more. Serverpronto also has some fees when things go wrong, also, however you are garunteed for hardware failure.

Well, there are plenty of places nearby that offer colocation, places that I drive by on almost a daily basis - so repair could be left in my hands.

Is burstable bandwidth a huge plus, considering that zones dont' have constant population?
