Zip and 7zip work nicely. Just make sure that you compress the files with their path. _________________ Oldbie Server Help |

I had the same idea, it would prevent long downloads in-game and it could also be a good thing used for .39pr1 since most newbies dont know how to upgrade. |

Nullsoft Scriptable Install System is my favorite installer. Lots of third party applications to assist you in building the installer script. Very easy to learn, and powerful to use. Can just read Continuum's directory from the registery if was installed by the installer program, or just ask the user for the directory of Continuum. |

Make sure you don't include an uninstall option or put hidden files that track the installation on the computer. If you must have an uninstall option please name the uninstaller clearly.
Rant:
I know with games based off UT the uninstall options are terrible. Say for example I install two custom maps, the second clobber's the first's uninstall program. But control panel still has an entry for each map. It's almost impossible to delete the maps by hand since they might install resources to a variety of folders, such as textures and sound effects. To complicate things further, these could be shared resources used by another map so simply opening the map in an editor, seeing what is uses and deleting that may break other maps. |
