If the 'Diff' numbers change at a steady rate, thats bad. If the 'Diff' numbers are about the same, maybe off by a couple of numbers here and there, thats good. |

Not always. Created a little wiki documentation on tinfo and what good and bad ones look like. |

Best way to catch a speed hacker is to let other players flood ?cheater
*tinfo is just a little back-up resource. |

It's not just for speed hacking. I've had players with bad drivers that had bad looking tinfo. The drivers were causing some timer interrupts to be ignored, making their computers "tick" slower than they should (1% is a lot). This caused quite a bit of visible strangeness, but not nearly as bad as speedhack. Updating the driver fixed the problem.
A *tinfo that's basically flat, but with some large spikes (say +/- 50) is usually a sign that someone has maxed their badwidth, perhaps with a file sharing app. _________________ 4,691 irradiated haggis! |
