My friend just bought a new barebone system, AMD Athlon 64bit CPU, and heat sink, and when we got it all hooked together, the computer didn't run.
The strange thing is, is when the IDE Pri. was plugged into the HDD, the HDD didn't turn on, but when you plug it from the HDD, the HDD turns on.
I've tried a few things, and so has he.
Any suggestions would be great. Also, ask more questions if needed.
Thanks. _________________ SSE Network Administrator

Be less vague. Use more words. Don't abbreviate.
What does "didn't run" mean? No lights? No fans? Nothing on the screen?
I don't understand what you said about the hard drive. _________________ Hyperspace Owner

Ok, well, nevermind that, we got the computer working. Sorry about the horrible explanation.
The problem now, is we can't find an audio driver for his computer. It's an ASUS motherboad, with Windows XP Professional 64-bit. I've tried microsoft's website, and quite a few others, and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks.

That is, if the sound card is integrated. If it's not, try the manufacturer's website. (Usually the card/mobo will come with a driver CD, you sure you don't have that?) _________________ This help is informational only. No representation is made or warranty given as to its content. Well, if it was a Sound Blaster sound card, I would have said so.
But anyways, I see what your coming from, and once again, we figured it out.
Thanks though. This topic can be deleted.
