Quote: | Just some FYI for you guys. As many of you are aware the domain SubSpaceHQ.Com has been unreachable for the past week or so. This is due, the best I can tell, to the server being reimaged and the domain not being set up again because the guy that takes care of it for Minbari doesn't know about it. As I have no way to get in touch with Minbari anymore these days, I'm pretty SOL for that one.
To solve this issue, I have purchased a new domain and hosting space. The new site will be called SSBase.Com and contain much the same crap as SSHQ has right now. It will remain the central location for downloads as all of my download server sites are still active. It's going to be pretty basic; not a lot of graphics or features. The SSGuide, What Is, and Install help pages will remain a long with the download areas.
Because news in this game is almost nill, it will be pretty static. I'll send out more information when I get closer to a launch date. Until then, the site is up at sshq.forumhq.net.

Well I never enjoyed SSHQ, I'd really wish SSC would finish up their potential of a very good site. I miss the SS Times, now that was a news site. |

You don't need admin to post anything in the submit news forum, you only need to be registered. An admin will then move the topic into the right forum so its displayed on sscentral.com
SSCentral.com is not actively being maintained by anyone. However, TheBajan is in process of rebuilding it and I'm sure any help would be welcome. Also, if the website can be used for something like the SSC website that will certainly give a boost. Not to mention its being payed by Swift and very reliable. (and the website already has a good name, and there is already an SSC forum on ssforum.net which can be used as the forum for SSC matters)
I'm sure there will be no problem with giving admin and access. |

I don't see why Bajan needs to redo/rebuilding it; they just need to finish adding content then updating the content. Like Omega Fire isn't on SSCX anymore, its back on SSCC.. etc. |

Just try navigating through the site and find your way through it. It has 5 (!) different menu's which all lead to different and/or the same pages.
The design is confusing and messy. Try to find the link to my site in it |

If SSCentral had a good layout and design... then yes.
However, they completely disregarded every good organization & layout techniques known to web design. It's like what Subspace.net was, but 10x worse. The news section, pitiful. The features, completely unreadable & inconvenient.
Though I agree, sscentral should be merged with sshq/ssbase/whatever. If only they could make a good web site between the shit there is at sscentral and Mackie's ideas. |

The current design of sscentral is pitaful. It was never fully finished by 9mm, and it looks like crap in firefox anyway.
Currently Bajan is lookin to make a new layout for it, like Mav said. He was originally looking for the old sscentral.com layout with the blue color scheme, but no one has been able to find it.
I was thinking about bringing back sstimes, but wasn't sure what was going on with sscentral, so I haven't. |

I've really revamped my site over at:
http://cypherjf.sscentral.com
where I'll be posting SS news if I hear of any, as well as software reviews, rants, etc. etc. |

Thanks. I need to work on getting plugins uploaded onto the newer system. Try to debate if I can/should release a few new ones I've worked on lately. |

Some one needs to make me a new website for SSI someday. The current one is a mess. Any decent web designer would kill me with one look at the code. |

You haven't seen "mess" until you've seen my PHP.
I'm being taught to do it correctly though. |

Pfft cypher, you're using a premade layout, get real.
Every kid can run nuke, invision and what not lame portals, the trick's to make your own.
Hey gerbil, recall warstrike's old design? Haha.
Maybe I should put the VIE site up, best easiest design ever. |
