Sorry if this has been asked previously, I'll be honest I done a search and skimmed the pages; Just wondering how I go about make my IP address 'absolute'?

I have set up my zone and it worked fine last night, but this morning my IP has changed - I remember reading about DNS ... or linking to a site so it would always show my new IP, but I'm pretty baffled.

I tried updating it in the files but to no avail.

I just know this is going to be something extremely simple >.<

Any help appreciated; thanks icon_smile.gif

You probably want a client from the likes of no-ip.com or dyndns.org, then in your zone description add ss://whatever-you-registered.no-ip.com
Also if you don't disconnect your modem your IP is less likely to change on you.

Your ISP can give you a static or a dynamic IP, yours obviously gives you a dynamic one.

Continuum users should always be able to find you after they update their zone list since your server should always send your current IP to the directory servers (I guess you'd have to keep changing a setting in server.ini).

While I was writing this I saw Smong already told what I wanted to say here. sa_tongue.gif
The name you registered at no-ip.com or dyndns.org will always point at your current IP adress if you use a client which reports the correct information to the server.
