Well they're normal Zip/Rar files; so open them accordingly. With either Winrar, or any other app. Then use a program such as SSME to open the lvl file.

winzip says cantopen archive as well as rar even though i re downlaod

If you need any old tiles or maps from EG just check them out in:
?go egoldLVLa, egoldLVLb, egoldLVLc etc etc, it runs till Z.
we ran out of letters so there are a few maps up in ?go flagging, flagging1, flagging2 etc...

The UI of 7-zip isn't user friendly. It treats archives like folders and you can't drag items out into explorer.

I've never used a UI of an archive utility in my entire life. I s'pose I've _viewed_ a multi-file archive through the file manager of one before, but that's all.

Extract, Compress, that's it.
