Yes, it is me again pestering people to get ideas for the almighty hypothetical zone. What is everyones opinions on cloaking in general?
I see it as a cheap way to kill noobies or ungreened ships. In my experience I have noticed x will be so cheap as to always be on or too expensive making cloakers seem even more cheap. Or worse, causing a rock, scissors, paper issue where you are fucked unless you fly a certain ship.
The counter I see is in svs based sets you can use it to trick people to use x radar to drain their life. Still that requires them to be new, stupid, or just too lazy to turn it off.
The only time I saw a good use of cloaking was in EG where I was flanking the enemy and I watched as a cloaked ship flew into the fr, past several ships, killed the person with anti, grabbed flags and took off; all before I could warn them. Of course that still is dependent on your opponents stupidity.
What is the best implementation of cloaking and x radar that you have seen? What is the worst? |

SVS is the most fair - all ships are allowed x-radar
17th Parallel is a good example of oddity, with no ships that have cloak having x-radar.
I enjoy both. It's all how you do it. |

Hey, the cloaker in TW doesn't have xradar either. Peronsally I think of 17th as a cloak wars zone. |

I would think that ships having cloak but not x would only be good in zones where cloak is common for most ships. Or am I wrong?
And thank you to the few of you who have replied. I was hoping to get some different views on how people see various parts of continuum to get more ideas for my zone, bt so far these topics have revealed little.
Thanks anyways. |
