Seems that the router, which I "OWN" in control, isn't allowing SS to communicate to the directory server, back and forth.
I run subgame just fine, but the zone won't show up on the dir server.
I try to download the dir server, but it won't download.
Amatuerishly, I got no specs of the router/hub, nor did I check ongoing threads about proxies or whatever (although I doubt it being a proxy issue). $
Basically, I have full access to the router via the web admin interface and am the only one with a clue at the office so no one else know what I'm doing.
$
And I can localy run the server and log onto it just fine (using a customed 127.0.0.1 listing).
Any advice on the fly as to what would cause it? |

I *think* that if the dir server can't ping your server, it doesn't add it.
Make sure you forward the zone's port and the port + 1 to the computer running the server. _________________ Hyperspace Owner

Directory server access requires UDP port 4990 open on router. _________________ 4,691 irradiated haggis! |

Ok, tomarrow I'll try to have a look around and/or post the interface shit, so I can see where I can tweak it to allow UDP ports. |

Who's to say I'm not doing any work?
I am, and then some beyond work (read: paid for) hours.
And no, I don't play SS at work.
But since the Internet access here isn't being used by anyone by me (it was only made to begin with so I can update the softwares/maintainance and do research for the buiss when needed), and it being online 24/7 I figured I might as well use all this free bandwidth to host a SS server. |
