Maybe Mine or someone here can shed some light on the SWR Forums since it's hosted at Shanky. Why does it say:

This Account Has Been Suspended
Please contact the billing/support department as soon as possible.

Also bonus points, why does the website seem to go down every few minutes? Bad host or what? Everyone is having these problems there.

Thanks

Ironically, we've moved to a new host about 5 months ago. The old host just still keep running things, even though we havn't given them money for the last 4 months. Guess they never looked.

So, hopefully you guys keep a backup, because I've been waiting for one of you guys to switch the DNS server over to ns1.woolnet.net and ns2.woolnet.net for a while. Whoever has this information should email me soon (swrealm at minegoboom.com) so I can set you guys up with the new host.

Amusing... I've forgotten about you guys for a while now...

Thanks, i'll tell Yoda to make the changes...no wonder. He's not very active so we're all clueless as to what's going on always.

MGB,

I emailed you and 3 other people on this 3 months ago. I asked but I never got a reply. In fact I emailed you via the minegoboom website.
I do believe at that time there was a listing of others who work on the MGB site. They were contacted as well.

So here I am again seeking help. I emailed you again via the minegoboom site "If you have a question". I also left you a msg under ur nym on SS.

I have switched the to the new DNS names with our Reg hoster. Alien uploaded the index.html but at this point it is not working.

Please contact me on SS under my nym KD Lang I am hoping you all have a copy of our info still on the old server. We are in need of it.

I have not received any emails in the past 5 months dealing with swrealm.net. The Server Help - Questions via Email is currently broken, due to spammers attempting to use it for spam, which is caught, but was done so heavily that the server help email address was constantly flooded with their attempts.

I rarely log into SSC hosted zones, but when I do, I've checked my ?messages, with no mentions of swrealm.net.

As for the DNS that you've changed over, it isn't instant for most ISPs. They only update it usually once a day, so your ISP's DNS server still has the old ip address in its cache. Just go to a command prompt, and type ping swrealm.net, and if it shows 216.239.57.99, then your local DNS server has not updated. If it shows 64.191.111.115, then it has. You could also change your computer's hosts file to force an update on your machine. C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts is the file, add 64.191.111.115 www.swrealm.net to force your machine to use the correct IP.

The old host completely removed all files dealing with our hosting with them, as they havn't been paid for the past 5 months (even though we successfully canceled our hosting then). As I had little dealing with that hosting once we moved over to this new host, I have not done any type of backing up of any data on the old host, because to my knowledge, there was nothing of value there, as all the accounts have been created on the new host when we first got it.

I still offer the free hosting to you guys as I've done before, and apologize for all this miscommunication between us.

If you need to contact me in the future, please make sure you use a direct email address, such as swrealm at minegoboom.com, and not via SubSpace/ICQ/etc. I do read through all email that isn't labeled as spam via SpamAssassin, and do check the subject lines of all spam email atleast. So, even if your email is incorrectly caught as spam by that software (only had that happen 4 times in 5 months), as long as you have a good subject line other than "hello", I'd still read it.

As for the three other people, only Shanky would have been able to assist you. Though, he is not as forgiving with email/spam as I am. I do not know who the other two could be (if our co-hosters, they wouldn't care).

I'm currently working with KD Lang in trying to see if they could get access to the backup files.

Anyways, I'd probably recommend, since you might be starting over, to use SS Forum.net, as probably most of your users are already created there, and they already offer forum access for zones already.

The only reason I've never wanted my forums else where, is because I don't believe in editorial censorship. But thats just me...
