Hello all,
I am a computer expert and youth development specialist at the local Boys and Girls Club. I am always looking for new, free multiplayer games for the kids, and I happened upon SubSpace a week or so ago.
In order to provide a unique and private experience for the kids on our internal network, I created a map and reconfigured the ships. My aim was to make an uncluttered map because some of the ships I created have extremely high speeds. Other ships have exteremly slow speeds, in comparison. In essence, we have high speed scouts and fighters, then slow speed transports and the greatest ship: The Leviathan Capital Strike Frigate. Each ship has its weakness, but now these weaknesses have been blown up to greater proportion. Additionally, the strengths of each ship have been heightened. This creates well defined ship classes. With the uncluttered map I have created the basic element of the game (Tactical Space Warfare) is in place.
Please stop on by and check it it out. In the F1 menu you'll be able to see all the ship stats. There is no point in keeping them private right now, and it makes it look neat ^^

Pretty good ship settings. Only thing I'd recommend is increasing the levi turn rate (took like a minute just to get out of safe).
Other than that, good job. I would add in some goal other than just fraying, though.

The Leviathan ship turn rate was at 45 (max 60) initially, but that was way to fast because at that turn rate it can pelt 40 bombs over a 180 degree arc in no time flat, tearing to pieces most of the ships in its way. The Leviathan's stats were tested out today on our internal network, and they seem very good, being that the Leviathan can single-handedly destroy the entire enemy force in 30 seconds with its bombs and bomb level view on radar.
The game is actually setup for flagging, but since no one was in the game when you were, I don't think the flags were dropped. ^^
Additionally, during testing today, the Weasel turned out to be a little too weak. I'll working to correct this, and Im thinking of making it half fighter/half bomber or making it guns only and boost the energy. Tell me what you think.

This reminds me of starcon in TW a bit. I didn't get a chance to kill anyone, how do the points work when you have 0 initial bounty? No incentive to kill the big ships with more energy if the weak ships give the same points. |
