I've never quite understood how people get this level of satisfaction out of using something like a memory editor -- especially in an empty zone/arena.

I'm also curious as to what type of emotional problems this Donako character has if he suddenly refers to himself as "godly" for using a cheat which hardly makes you invincible in this game.

Not every one knows how to do super with CE or bypass bang bans (net-bans) he does..
BDwinsAlt - Fri Feb 16, 2007 8:15 am

It's extremely easy to bypass a ban though. Imagen if you had a static ip though. Haha. It's best to not get banned at all. Be good, stay in school.

So you're telling me that idiot painstakingly set about 30 different arena settings to mimic *super? What a retard.

LOL?
hellzlaker - Fri Feb 16, 2007 2:02 pm
Post subject:
No, he did something more powerfull then super, I just say because its LIKE super but more powerfull:

His hack:

LVL 4 bombs without having flags
LVL 4 bullets without having flags
300% - 3000% shields
300% - 3000% super
0 bomb delay
0 bullet delay
infinite all super items(thors, multifire, burst, sharps)
add wall hack to that-

Thats what i ment by it, I tried killing him with *super and i got pwned

BDwinsAlt - Fri Feb 16, 2007 7:05 pm
Post subject:
I heard if you had emp and prox or something you could eventually kill someone with super on. I'm not sure exactly. Wouldn't a really strong thor do it? Try using *thor. Under normal circumstances it's probably not possible, then again, *super isn't a normal circumstance.

first of all this is NOT english class, but SubSpace Forum, that deals with only SubSpace(Continuum) so you should learn about continuum a bit, also if Dr. Brain said you're retard - that means u r!

People will take you more serious if you use proper grammar.
It's good practice anyways. It's a little picky to pick out the sharp/shrap thing. The thing that appeals to me the most is the use of letters as words.

There's nothing wrong with that. I tend to take people with proper grammar more serious, that's all. icon_cool.gif

By the way cham, it's "I'm."

Afk.

Jesus christ...

Ok, first of all, The *super ship still takes damage from inactive shrapnel. Granted, this is typically too little to make a difference, but with this it is capable of killing a sysop.

Secondly, The way Continuum is designed, it's impossible for <insert CE user here> to save the memory addresses of their cheats. So each time he wanted to "pwn" you in some empty zone, he's had to manually set it up, which takes forever.

Finally, all he's doing is searching for memory values. It's not hard, impressive or anything along those lines. Stop validating/glorifying his stupidity -- this game has enough retards in it as it is.

I don't know how he does it or his buddy, but they can do all that in less than 2 minutes. They've learned the shortcuts. They can give themselves over 30000 of everything; 30000 of energy, instant recharge (with a delay of like 0.05 to 0.01 seconds), I think they can just make it so that they don't get hurt at all, etc.

If you "change freqs" with CE, the freq you join cannot hurt you. If your original team shoots at you, their bullets will hit you, but will not harm you. I don't know what cheating has to do with their anti-SSC revolution.

I found cheat codes to Grand Theft Auto, now I don't wanna play it anymore because I got tired of it. Continuum will become the same way.

How do these memory hackers get past the memory checksums sent by the client?
BDwinsAlt - Sun Feb 18, 2007 1:38 am
Post subject:
Have you not played with it yourself? It isn't hard to do if you know what your looking for.
Cerium - Sun Feb 18, 2007 2:37 pm
Post subject:
Cyan, the memory checksum just checks arena settings, map and a couple other things (to my knowledge).
Changing the current value of your specials count and what not won't effect it.

@BD:
Shut up already. You're just as clueless as these self-proclaimed "hackers".
D1st0rt - Sun Feb 18, 2007 3:24 pm
Post subject:
The way I understand it is theres the arena settings which don't change, and then theres the "your current ship" settings which do.

Bleh. I've used CE so I was just helping them understand how it works. You're to good for CE, so you wouldn't know. Go away. icon_mad.gif

Meh pitty hes a newb using someone elses tools.

There is some useful cont hacking that could be done. That might make the game better. Unfortunately useful hacking requires far more work and knowledge than making a cheat
Cerium - Sun Feb 18, 2007 10:37 pm
Post subject:
@Distort:
I was refering to the constant arena settings in my previous post. Your current ship values aren't part of the checksum.

@BD:
You're exactly right. I don't need to cheat in this game -- I have *super.

@Doc:
Not exactly how I'd put it, but you're going in the right direction.

By saying "it isn't too hard"? Oooh, what help.

@Cerium/d1stort: Yeah, I was more thinking of the wallhack stuff (modifying LVL?) but I probably just don't know how that works.

Also, I'm kinda wondering whether the admin at that proboards site that was spammed all over these boards is BD. Now wouldn't that be interesting.
Chambahs - Mon Feb 19, 2007 1:05 pm

Cyan, there is one wallhack i know. What you can do is:

Lets say your zone...uhh..SSCC ZOMG FUN has a funmap.lvl in pub. What you would do is go into your continuum/zones/SSCC ZOMG FUN folder, and open up the .lvl file with ssme. Then you could edit up to 4 tiles and then enter the zone. Then what you would have to do, is save the ssme file at an EXACT point so it overrides for you, but doesnt override before its recognized. If it does get saved too early, you will just redownload the zone file. If you save it too late, nothing happens and the next time you go into the arena, you'll re-dl it.

Of course me and vegito(ignore.txt) tested this out about 2 years ago, its hard to pull off and its only 4 tiles..but it does however work wonders in CTF zones. Thats the only way we figured out how to wall hack, and it kind of makes perfect sense.

PS: I dont think this method works anymore. And im not too sure if this post is more exploiting or educating...mm

LOL. That isn't me spamming those links. You know exactly who it is. MGB will ban him again when he gets on. I wonder how long it will last this time.
Cyan~Fire - Tue Feb 20, 2007 12:53 am
Post subject:
@Cham: I think you were just lucky and hit a checksum collision or whatever it's called.

@BD: I wasn't suggesting you were the one spamming.
Chambahs - Tue Feb 20, 2007 1:31 am
Post subject:
Well cyan, we tested it on multiple zones on different days and i actually think it might still work today...havent checked it in some time now.
Doc Flabby - Tue Feb 20, 2007 3:50 am
Post subject:
The other way to wall hack involved memory hacking your ship size. These are all old hacks tho.

Btw u might want to report the spam to proboards who are hosting that site. As its against there TOS.

you can't change any of the original settings that were already in subspace without having checksum mismatches. however, all the settings continuum added can be freely changed without having to worry about checksums. the most abused one was already mentioned by doc flabby.

was priit being just sloppy with continuum or was it not possible to add the proper checksum check to subgame? could this be fixed in asss? or is it already done?

Acutally, if everybody switched to ASSS it would probably be a lot easier to secure Continuum, but I'm not positive.

No, it really wouldn't be. PriitK has access to subgame, so if he really wanted to change anything in one, he could do it in the other too.
Cyan~Fire - Tue Feb 20, 2007 3:40 pm
Post subject:
Does he have access to subgame? I thought he just made all his changes through fix.dll.
Dr Brain - Wed Feb 21, 2007 8:47 am
Post subject:
It amounts to the same thing: if he wanted to change something, he could.
Cyan~Fire - Wed Feb 21, 2007 9:56 am
Post subject:
Alright, I figured it would be harder to make changes through fix.dll because that's sorta hackish, but that's really just a guess I don't know how this stuff works.

Not everyone is going to find me funny, inciteful, or worth reading, and I'm alright with that, because there is some shit I post that makes me look back and go "Damn, that did sound retarded." Deal with it, or leave, whining about it ain't going to help matters for you.
