The transit strike never happened, Quan. It only started in Jamaica, Queens with the private bus companies today so they wouldn't get sued (since the judge only placed a restriction making it illegal for the MTA transit workers to strike). Anyway, your school is pretty stupid to let everyone go home when they don't even know the facts about the strike. I got to and from school with the train today and nothing happened (they even said they won't strike today for MTA on news).

But you're lucky you get a long ass vacation. We start our vacation on Thursday, the 22nd. icon_sad.gif

First off, I'm not joking about STD's. If I was, I would let you know. Now im going to compare this with diabetes. Lets see here...The money Spent on STDs/HIV, and such.

More than $8 billion is spent each year to diagnose and treat STDs and their complications. This figure does not include HIV. -$8 billion, wow..thats a shitload of money that can be used more useful if people would learn to have safe sex.

The estimated total number of people living in the US with a viral STD is over 65 million. [2] Every year, there are at least 15 million new cases of STDs, some of which are curable. Each year, one in four teens contracts an STD. About half of all new STDs in 2000 occurred among youth ages 15 to 24. - that youth age group is ridicolous. - [8] The total estimated costs of these nine million new cases of these STDs was $6.5 billion, with HIV and human papillomavirus (HPV) accounting for 90% of the total burden.

Ok, 40 million people have AIDS/STDs - 194 million have diabetes - 20 million in the USA alone. . Where is World Diabetes Day?

AIDS is the "sexy disease" to contribute to I guess because people just LOVE to follow their favorite entertainers. So weak.

Most people get AIDS by choice - having unprotected sex - that's a choice you make so don't even go there. Diabetics have a pancreas shutdown, nothing by choice there.

Diabetes is the fourth main cause of death in most developed countries.

Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in industrialized countries. It is also set to overtake infectious diseases as the most common cause of death in many parts of the less developed world.

People with diabetes are two to four times more likely to develop cardiovascular disease than people without diabetes.

People with diabetes can have a heart attack without even realising it.

Strokes occur twice as often in people with diabetes and high blood presure as in those with high blood pressure alone.

Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness and visual impairment in adults in developed countries.

Diabetes is the most common cause of amputation which is not the result of an accident.

People with diabetes are 15 to 40 times more likely to require a lower-limb amputation compared to the general population.

AIDS is a lot easier to prevent than diabetes so I really do not have a lot of compassion for people who get it through sex - keep your damn stick in your pants or wear a damn hat. Don't go around banging every ho in the hood, get AIDS, then expect everyone to feel sorry for you. But that's what happens.... and herein also lies the hypocrism that surrounds most religions as well. But that's ok, it's easy to get out of hell, all you got to do is just ask, right? Thats why there isn't a heaven and hell. But back to the point.

Diabetes gets ignored because most people don't understand it. The most intense and suffered disease in the world and not many know much about it.

Mostly because the people with AIDS are always pushing their way to the forefront because of that "we're more important because its about sex" attitude they carry. A lot of people will think you can get diabetes from eating too much suger. Some people think diabetics can't eat suger. But that's not true.

I'm the brother of a diabetic, my sister has had it since she was 5. This girl could teach a lot of people about courage, let me tell ya. 4-6 injections a day, contant blood samples all day long. I've seen people look disgustingly at her at times when she's had to take our a hypodermic needle and give herself an injection.

The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few - except when it comes to AIDS and diabetes. 194 miliion to 40 million. How sad and backwards is that.

There's your "unreasponsible" newb.

Purge, my father works for the MTA. He says that people are doing a "wild cat." Calling at the end of their run saying they're sick. The full fledge strike will happen Tuesday. They ARE shutting down private bus lines in Queens though. icon_smile.gif Sucks for Queens.

Its when drivers go to the end of the line and call in sick. One does it. Then another. And another. Next thing you know, tons of people are stuck where they are due to bus and train delays. Preferebly of course.

Does it matter about my age? Fucking idiot, there are loads of people younger than me that are much more intelligent.

Though, everyone seems to be more intelligent that you of course.
Just like that time when you forgot your age was visible and called Quan a 15 year old moron or something.

Ok newb, one thing. I already know my age is showing on here, i called quan a 15 year old moron why? Because its true. And yea, theres people more intelligent then me, and then theres people that arent, but who keeps count? you? no i didn't think so. Age also doesnt define how smart you are, you could be 80 years old and get a 12 on an IQ test. you could also be 16 years old and get 120 and whatnot. And age also doesnt define how mature you should act, and whatnot. But i think peaople should start maturing around age 13. Just my opinion.

Also bak, my twin sister had gotten it because her pancreas wasn't making enough insulin.

This home tuition/web learning (Whatever you call it) may actually work for some people. School is not for everyone and some people don't feel comfortable in the school environment. It is a well known fact that being comfortable and secure allows you to work effectively and this can provide that for the minority out of school.

However it carries many negatives, especially concerning friendships and bonding with people of the same age group.

And im sure you hangout with the lil kiddys at school lunch that play pokemon and yu-gi-oh and fight over who is a better player right? Or are you the school loner who gets picked on? Well, it doesnt matter because One half year of online school doesn't mean i lost friends and don't go out and hang with them stupid ass.
