I mean there are people out there who actually think Episode 1 and 2 are right up there with the original trilogy.

The same applies for Episode 3.

Do you think they might make another one after this?

yeah, for what happens after the original trilogy, just cause it made so much money... maybe they'll wait a few years though...

I liked Episodes 1 and 2... hard to say if they were better than the originals since I didn't see them they came out; I'm sure the idea was very creative at the time plus they actually had some special effects.

Anyways I got my ticket bought for 12:01 AM Wednesday night / Thursday morning. Hope it's good.

Some of us probably already seen it, it premiered a couple of days ago for people that could afford the tickets, I guess the proceeds went to charity.

George Lucas has changed the movies from unique to just like any other movie.

The original trilogy was not good because of its amazing special effects, like everyone, including Lucas, thinks it was. It was the fact that they had good actors who portrayed their characters well, and a well-thought-out script that really brought out the plot; two elements that are missing in many modern movies.

George Lucas, for the above-mentioned fallacy, has loaded the new movies with amazing special effects and computer-generated characters whose movements are too fluid to be true (yes, Jabba was partly computer-generated in the Special Edition, but it looked real), many actors with very stone faces, and overused, ineffective plot devices.

When the original trilogy was released, yes, they cut out a scene because they didn't have the technology to create it. Yes, Luke's landspeeder took advantage of very interesting camera angles to hide the artificial coloring under it where the support wheels were. Yes, one could somewhat see through the snow speeders' cockpit where the video-blending technology wasn't quite good enough. Yes, they fixed all of these things in the Special Edition, so naturally the Sepcial Edition should have been an even bigger hit. It wasn't.

Watch the original triolgy. I doubt whether you'll find a time where you lose track of the character's emotions and actually realize you're watching a movie, a time when the actors have absolutely no expression on their faces. Now watch Episodes 1 and 2, and you'll find plenty of scenes.

In the original trilogy, when Luke's aunt and uncle died, Luke sped off quickly from the sandcrawler (but Lucas didn't show him through his journey for the audience to be impressed by his fastness), and then Luke actually stumbled around and really acted like he was in despair when he saw their dead bodies, and then returned to Obi-Wan and the sandcrawler slowly and dejectedly, just like someone would do in real life. But in Episode 2, when Anakin's mother dies at the hands of the Tusken Raiders, he gets this ugly almost-crying-but-still-a-real-man-so-pretty-angry face on (Wait, do I mean one of the two faces Hayden Christensen can make?), and then goes speeding off in his speeder (after killing a few raiders, of course) really, really fast just to show how cool, emo, and reckless he really is. (Hey, just like Wolverine in X-Men 2!)

Lucas is just blowing the top off of these movies to impress people, but I'm not impressed by show: I'm impressed by a good movie.

Heh, no tents for me... probably show up a little early just to get a decent seat. The first showing is always the best because the audience is more animated, from what I've seen anyway.

I go see a movie because of the story. Sure the lighting, acting, and directing helps, but in the end what you really want is to be able to tell the story without someone noticing their watching a movie. I'd much rather see a good story in a movie with ok acting / directing / cinematography than a well made movie with a bad storyline. Star Wars is popular because it's a creative world and a fun adventure.

If you had to watch the entire epic again. Would you watch it 1,2,3,4,5,6 or 4,5,6,1,2,3?

The former would kill all the foreshadow/suspense of the original trilogy though would put the whole story into perspective. The mystery of Vader and the connection with Luke would be ruined. Just a bunch of action on how the rebels won and Anakin's rise and fall as Jedi & Sith. Probably, if it would be more of a series about Anakin, then Luke. We wouldn't pay as much attention to Luke as we would Anakin because the first 3 are all about his life, and the latter would be resolving the first 3 from a different perspective.

Blah. Probably in the order made would still be best.

I'm suprised theres so many people that have never watched star wars especially in Subspace where there are loads or zones and ideas based around Star wars ie. Death Star Battle, Star Treck vs Star Wars, star war zone etc etc..

I would watch 4,5,6. The first three are not part of "the entire epic" in my book, since it was perfectly fine without them.

I felt the last 10 minutes of the movie was Lucas thinking "oh crap, I have those old movies coming after this, better add continuity" and doing a whole bunch of cop-outs. I mean come on,  even having C-3P0 get hit by some laser to kill his memory  would have been better than what they did.

Um... How is school over-rated? School will actually help you acheive the grades you need to make a living (a good living that is tongue.gif), and not spend all your time on a 2d game.

Sure, some of the teachers can be real idiot, but who cares? Just listen, pay attention, throw the odd paperball or paper pellets, and learn! (And get a life sa_tongue.gif)

Mark Hammil is/was not a good actor. Although, he did play the part of whinning kid pretty well, however, his acting was sub-par.
