Post subject: FireFox
I just downloaded FireFox. I have been using IE and had no desire to change so i downloaded it just to see what was sooooo great about it. Someone give me the 'gist' of whats better and what not.

It does look like i can see MORE with FireFox, which is nice.

Ctrl + t (opens a new tab)
Ctrl + w (closes current tab / window)

in the address bar you can do quick searches like type in:
"google gay porn" and it will do a google search for gay porn
"wp apple" and it will do a wikipedia search on apple
"slang douch" and it will do an urban dictionary search on douch
"dict despot" and it will dictionary search despot

you can configure these yourself by editing bookmarks->quicksearches, I've added java search, java api search, and msdn search. You can also just link to sites using the same method. I have it setup so when I type "mgb" it comes to forums.minegoboom.com

There's also a bookmark toolbar, which you can put links in just by putting your favorites in the bookmark toolbar folder.

Get adblock too (search the trask talk forum for it). It will remove ads from websites after you set up filters (using the filters provided on the sites blocks most ads). You can then right click any ad and click "addblock image" and you'll never see it again.

Anyone know how to get FireFox to use the alt key instead of control? It's a lot easier to use keyboard shortcuts for the tabs using alt vs ctrl, I think.

There might be a problem with alt since that is the Windows menu-access key. I don't see why alt would be easier anyway, I find control easiest to find because it's the last key in the row.

It's like simple subjectivism.
Billy: "Firefox is the best browser."
Joe: "Are you serious?"
Billy: "Yes, I am serious."
Joe: "Ok, I believe that you think Firefox is the best."

When you say another browser is better, it is a report on your feelings so you're just changing the topic of discussion.

Nice to know I'm learning something in that philosophy class I'm in.

mIRC uses alt to cycle though all it's windows.

Three words: Tabbed browsing.

One word: overrated.
Another: Unnecessary.

Adblock - Got my own.
All-in-One Gestures - Got it via mouse.
Allow Right-Click - Don't need it (any kid can bypass the right click inhibition).
BugMeNot - More bull that doesn't apply to me.
ChatZilla - < mIRC/others.
DictionarySearch - < Dictionary.com & Assortment/Copernicus (powertool).
Download Statusbar - Just do like me andn use FlashGet, duuur.
FlagFox - Overblown crap.
Flashblock - Not required.
ForecastFox - Don't need firefox for that, still also highly unneeded.
Go To - zzzzz
Linkification - So does WORD, and I use neither.
ListZilla - Get CEdit.
Menu Editor - Wow, IE got them too!
NextPlease - Google Is Your Best ENEMY!!!
Nightly Tester Tools - [watch a dustball doing a fly-by]
Open Long Url - Call me a ctrl+n & paste freak.
SA Forums Menu - For the retarded mindless zombies who refer to themselves as the epic apogee elite in a word depicting far more intelligence than the collective minds of MENSA : goons.
Sage - BLAH BLAH BLAAAAHHHHHH.
Show Failed URL - Your url sux, try again. Seems to work fine for IE.
SomethingAwful Last Read Enhancement - Shoot me now. WTF does a newsfeed has to do anything with a browser? I can plug fucking tap to any forum/html I want regardless of browser.
Sort Extensions - Look momy, I alphanumericalized my toys in a nice list you can cross out for the big campfire.
SpellBound - If you care so much, use WORD, suprisingly enough, it works (who would've thought...it's MS).
Stop/Reload - UGH?
Tabbrowser Extensions - Are you GWAH?.
text/plain - ARGLE GARGLE GOOGLE GOOP!
TinyUrl Creator - TURN"A"GUNDAM.
User Agent Switcher - Got two users, admin and gamedrone, and I control both, point being?
View Cookies - Or I'm just advanced enough to delete them anyway.
Web Developer - We got (semi/)professional tools for these, you know.

I just downloaded Firefox RC1.5 and man, it's fast. They improved the back/forward buttons and there is no noticeable delay when pressing them now and a much shorter load time as far as I can tell. Definitely a recommended download.

Postdata is how PHP functions based on user submitted data.

Here is a link that will give you a better understanding.
