BLO is an object file found for some games. Search Google for the specific game and "blo" to find an extractor for that game.

Blo isn't an accepted attachment, since it has nothing to do with Subspace here. Also, when in doubt, zips are allows allowed.

Ok i can tell you its from the game infantry do i look on thier website or type in google "infantry blo extracters?"
Gravitron - Wed Aug 17, 2005 1:13 am

It's just a blob.
An archive with an indexing header for all files.
It has no compression applied or otherwise, AFAIK.
I have the tools, but extracting from it won't do you any good.

"Their website"? What website?
INF doesn't have a website anymore.

Infantry .BLO files are sort of like LVZ. A collection of images and other things. The image objects are stored in RLE fashion in the file in such a way that makes me think they are rendered almost directly from this format. I suspect they use system buffers (not video buffers) and render images (and alpha blends) using CPU rather than GPU. You can't do alpha blending in DirectDraw, only Direct3D. This is probably why Infantry had such poor FPS at the same resolution/depth as Subspace. Also Infantry is 16-bit only (full screen). Subspace VIE client used 8-bit, and Continuum defaults to 8-bit.

Also, most likely, having the entire screen full of 16bit tiles by default instead of black space.

Infantry isn't that much better at graphics, but the game engine still surpass subgame easily.
At the later versions Jeff also added Z-axis and turned the engine 3D.
Then the engine was modified for vehicle classes for added support for this feature (turrets can aim at Z-axis to hit aircrafts and shoot mortars, the higher you aim of course the further it lands).

If you find the copy of infantry server floating around out there, it includes the utility to view items in the BLO files. My guess is that you're trying to extract them to make another... infantry zone.

That's a mini-pansy-sony-page that just say "come pay to be gayed".
It's not an Infantry website.
HG had a better website.
The official IZone of HG was an INF website.
THAT THING, this mockery defilment is NOT an INF website.

And mine go boom, this quote mod of yours SUX.
People do mass quote spam, ban, chop, edit, slice, blahblahblah, fix it.
This is NOT a fix, this is a burden.

And assassin, as said, got the tool to extract, but it'll do you no good.
Stop thinking of stealing gfx from INf and go do something productive, like playing WoW.
I need more alliance lvl10+s.

eh hem... To tell you the truth infsntry sucks. The only good part in the graphics. I am making a half-life 2 zone with the aliens vs people type thing. I kno there has to be a way sence i see lots of thier graphics floating around.

Sony got a hold of Infantry and made it P2P.

As well, to play Infantry you MUST use the Station LaunchPad (see: http://infantry.station.sony.com/en/download.jsp).

Also, on a side note, Sony owns a game that they built into the LaunchPad as well called Cosmic Rift which is a spoof of Continuum (see: http://cosmicrift.station.sony.com/screenshots.jsp).

According to Wikipedia (see: http://www.answers.com/topic/infantry-computer-game) wrote:
Around 1996, now-defunct Virgin Interactive Entertainment (VIE) began to develop a game called SubSpace. While very successful, it became a burden in various ways and was eventually dropped by VIE. Some of the developers of SubSpace, banded together as the Harmless Games company, continued further development of the game model. The project was renamed Infantry. The game was developed and gained relative popularity. GameFan (the parent company of Brainscan Development) went bankrupt and hadn't paid its employees in months. The lead designer of Infantry, Rod (Rodvik) Humble, was offered a job with Sony Online Entertainment (http://www.station.sony.com/en/) (SOE) and left Harmless Games a few months into these tough times. Larry J. Cordner (LJC) also found another job, however, stayed with the development team until shortly after Harmless Games was bought by another company. Harmless Games, and its sole game Infantry, was bought by Sony Online Entertainment (http://www.station.sony.com/en/) (SOE) from Brainscan Entertainment for an undisclosed sum. Two of Infantry's developers, Jeff Petersen (programmer) and Jerimy Weeks (Artist and Zone designer) were hired by SOE to continue development of the game. Some time later, SOE had them develop Cosmic Rift (http://cosmicrift.com/) (CR), an offshoot of Infantry meant to rival the now player-run SubSpace. CR was a relative failure, compared to Infantry and Continuum. In October 2001, Petersen was transferred to EverQuest development and Weeks was laid off. Game development stagnated. In May 2002, SOE rehired Weeks and introduced a monthly $6.95 pay-to-play plan for SOE's three small action games: Infantry, CR and Tanarus (http://tanarus.station.sony.com/main.jsp).

Smack me down or smack down the evidence I have provided?

And WoW sucks, it is P2P. I would never pay money to play a game.

A friend of mine was in good relationships with the owners of AO, he was very valued as a beta tester and player that he was given GM.
Even they offered him a free account, he refused and kept paying, he liked them guys and believed they're really honest bunch of people who deserve the money (unlike say, sony or nexon and etc.).
They offered him same terms (GM+free acc) for AO 2 or the expansion or whatever it was (I didn't play AO) as well.

I bought C&C 2 : red alert, diablo, diablo 2, starcraft and many more, I don't regret it.
Buying games is a priviledge and like "bringing home the bacon" it makes me feel proud (granted, most of these were gained by parental money since I yet to have had a job at the time and all, but still).
If I could afford it, I would own any game I play.
I wish I had a SS box...
I'm also missing x-com 3 to make my collection complete...
