Post subject: MORE Negative Settings
I've noticed that setting SoccerBallFriction=0 will cause the ball to continue on it's course until the ball is caught by someone else. However, would setting this value to a negative number cause the ball to GAIN speed the farther it went?

Yes, it works. I just tested. The most important thing you need to remember is that setting a negative value, the frictioin is just that; negative. This means that the more negative of a number you set, the faster the ball GAINS speed, rather than the larger the number you set, the faster the ball LOSES speed.

Do not set this number to less than negative 12!

Actually, yes, I did know that. One of my sysops likes to set it to something very negative and let the ball loose. After a few miniutes, it cannot be caught.

I wanted to correct my previous warning. You shouldn't set it any lower than negative 3. This will give it about 30 seconds before it's soo out of control that's it's pretty much lost.

It was me who Dr is speaking about biggrin.gif
Anyway, it can be caught, its all in the ship..... too bad it also has a nasty habbit of being able to jump a 10x10 tile goal....
Oh and almost forgot, when I did so it was set to -100

Right, I'm just suggesting that you shouldn't set it that low. Most of the ships in my zone have a radius of 6, so it's quite hard to catch a ball with a proximity of 8.
All times are -5 GMT
