Way back in the day I had a program that would export the tileset of a lvl into a bmp file. I can't seem to find a program that does this now. I searched all over ssdownloads but couldn't remember which program did it.
Anyone have any links?

Pretty much any map editor does that... even SSME as far as I know. CLT and DCME can do that too.

open up the .lvl file in paint, save as
or did you mean the tile data rather than the tileset?

Hmm.. maybe... if you want to export the map as a 1024x1024 bitmap, FACTS is the way to go... DCME does it too, but it doesn't convert it the other way around (bitmap to lvl)
