An ode to my first and old video card:

So long my voodoo3.
You 16MB AGP TV.
Your 3500 brand has served me well.
But now I must bid you farewell.
Evil nVidia corporation has done 3dfx great wrong.
They killed OpenGL, oh magnificant glide, now is gone.
And as good as you were, without official support now you become a corpse.
For even the great community you have, they won't make games for you the dorks.
As such in a sad notion, I must from you now take my leave.
And install a 64MB DDR GeForce 4 to continue in the gaming scene live.

I wonder what res I can goto now, even I only got a 19" (or was it 17"?) monitor.
I wonder what games won't run for me anymore.
At the least I can play some new ones that won't run on the voodoo.
People who won't bother for the voodoo community are scum.
If EA could make Jedi Outcast work on my voodoo, why can't "you"?
FAG!

I've still got a V3 2000 in my server box...

Anyway, glide sucked and everyone always complained about the lack of real OpenGL support back then. Not that it matters now, because DirectX is the new standard. But 3Dfx was pretty cool back in the day.

Edit: my first "real" video card was a Canopus Pure3D II. Voodoo2 power! It was a bit over $300 and I almost bought two of them so I could run 'em in SLI. icon_smile.gif
