Trash Talk - Stop the clicking (Deactived B l a h e r) - Tue Jul 24, 2007 4:58 pm Post subject: Stop the clicking
For some reason my computer ever 7 seconds to 5 minutes randomly makes a clicking noise (from the speakers, you know like the media sound that it plays when you click a link, not a physical link). There's nothing at all going on, and I'm not even on it. I fell asleep today and I was woke up to the random clicks from my PC (windows xp sp2) because I forgot to turn off the speakers. It does while I'm typing right now too. I don't know why it's doing it, and I don't see anything going on (other than trillian sitting idle). I googled every phrase I could think of, and i can't find a solution of at least why or how to fix it. Any help?

Go to control panel, have a look at Sounds. Someone may have assigned that sound for program open/close, which could happen at any time (background services and stuff).

sorry, no sounds are assigned to either of them. :-/

That happened to my grandmother's pc when she had (still has) a bunch of spyware on her pc. I'm guessing you already thought of that and did a scan.

Yeah, really sounds like spyware.
