Is there anyway to include the players speed on the hud or topright corner?

Yes. You will need to make a module that is pretty similar to a LVZ jackpot display, so look at one of those, I'm pretty sure there is at least one good open source example. Instead of of the jackpot, though, you will need to get the player's speed, convert it to some intelligible units, and display it to that person privately. It might look better if you displayed a meter with a set number of levels instead of the speed as a number. You can also animate lvz to make each level "jitter" up and down a little to give a realism effect and hide how it actually works.
