It's a series, there's supposed to be some sort of logical link between the members...it's not a trick question, , I don't have any solution on-hand; if you fail then it may just be that the author was a whimsical jackass.

Looking at the biggest database of integer sequences shows nothing for 900,1200,1500,2000 and nothing for 9,12,15,20,25,30,40,50 so it is nothing related to anything interesting in math.
Looking for patterns, you add 300 to the previous number twice, 500 three times, 1000 three times, 2000 six times, 3000 six times, 4000 three, 5000 seven, 7000 four, 10000 four, and finish off with adding 12000. 3,5,19,20,30,40,50,70,100,120 is nothing special, neither is 2,3,3,6,6,3,7,4,4,1
Anything beyond looking at that with no context is pointless.
