ive got a guy come into my zone and claim to be a c programmer, (me probly is, and can also hack...as he sumhow managed to change the operators t on my bot...and..its not on hes comp so...)

anyways he wants co ownership and to host my zone and put it on a ssc billing server

he also claims to be a thorn<er> or thorne<er> in trench wars and some sso servers

thing is..do i accept hes proposal....

1) what if i make him co owner, give my zone to him for hosting..then chucks me out and claims full ownership..ive lost all my work

2) what if i say no and he hacks my ass to the other side of the planet

3)my zone is very unique in its custom graphics and ive spent alot of work on it..i dont want anyone hosting it of taking my stuff and claiming

also...

he told me to download the billing server v10 from subspacedownloads.com

(so i did)
and now hes claiming to be sending me some biller something or another which he programmed so i can use it....

its all a dodgy situation and im paranoid..please give me advice on what to do...

im seriously thinking of taking my zone and doing a runner... :/

If some random person came in and said he wanted to help co-ownership your zone, and says he is a programmer, ask him what he could do to make the zone better. If he says make a bot/etc, tell him sure and ask for the source. If he is unwilling to share the source with another co-owner, then he probably isn't very trustworthy. If you feel worried about your own work, then don't share.

Also, those that are on SSC billing are run by larger hosts. Ask him which one he runs, go into those zones hosted by him (more than 1) and find out information about the host. If the emails/etc match up, your in luck.

i just can't see a formidable hacker taking the time to hack a low pop subspace server, considering he could just steal the crap and you would never know. Too easy, too boring. You could hack it with a script and truthfully claim anything more would be wasteful...

tell him to shove it and do it like a normal person... climb the ladder.... even do some work maybe.

C programmer, what has he not been around since C++? not exactly a hot commodity.
check the addresses. check his name. don't listen to any high-talking crap.

i he had hosting capabilities, he wouldn'w want "co-ownership"

that was my rant, did you miss it?

hmm tru, he also claims to be a tw staff member..im just trying to verify that with tw at the moment.

ive just got too much work to be ripped..its hapened before..and..damn..well...thats me innit...my work is important to me

i think what hes doing is, trying to gain my trust first....then try and gain co ownership from me, he then wants me to host it on hes billing server on hes comp.... and then hel probly strip my ownership from my own zone. and hes got it...nobody can say he ripped it..coz hel say i gave it to him....

so...i think thats hes "plan"

You should feel proud. Your zone is worth enough to someone else as to waste a crapload of time just to even get a bit of your trust.

people asking me to be co owner..anyone who asks me that i instantly distrust a person..haha...

also, hes pilot name wasnt actually "the guy" but i couldnt remember it...(is anything good to remember him by?)

so i just put "the guy" then again..shoulda put
"the completely annoying n00b who dont do jack shit but wants staff"

even after i said no he was pesterin me for about the next half hour..i banned him...i told him enough times to go away and NO..but he was just plain desperate annoying little bastard......

yeah....what use is unzipping to me, i dont need someone to unzip my stuff for me..fool....

Naaa, as fun as that will be I would just say "no and that's final, now stfu, or perm ignored".
If all they want is super they can have it with smod, then again I wont give such ppl smod for $500 (with $1000 we got something to talk about

By the way, use WinRar, winzip is passe.
