My brother's new camera came in the mail over the weekend, so I figured I'd post a small version of one of the nicer pictures.

My bike:

My brother's bike, with him on it:

Since none of the action shots of me on my bike came out, here is a quick movie of me on my bike.

Bring up the statement, I'm going to get a single engine, small, private, aircraft soon. I've been getting the handle on flying on, in the past time I have been gone. I'm pretty sure I'll get my Pilots License once I turn seventeen. You guys should try it out some times, they're very easy to learn how to fly, and they're a lot of fun. icon_biggrin.gif

It's not really the commercial air plane you're probably thinking about. This is the one I'm probably going to get (private planes are a lot safer, anyways). The plane is a bit expensive, but it's worth it. Gas is one of the most costly things about it, but on a good wind day, a plane like that can get you in places with around the same fuel efficiency then a car and in a third of the time ( Can you say, Air Trip! [Unrated version] ).

Plus they're a hell a lot of fun to go on a trip in and a good hobby.

I mean isn't what people see of the future, is flying cars? Well, this is as close as a flying car you can get.

Also a motorcycle is a good way to get past the gas inflation. Have you seen how many people selling their SUV and trucks (All Gas guzzlers) lately?

I know of some places where you can get a state of the art, luxury, jet plane for 500k. I doubt your friend payed 800k for a plane, and if he did he got ripped off BIG time.
Brand new planes cost around 50k-100k, depending on what you get in it. If you're getting a used plane, then they are usually around 30k-50k.

This is my great uncle's plane, the one I use to fly in till I can invest enough to buy one, if you want to take a gander at it.

My bike only cost me $2600. You don't buy your first couple of planes/bikes new. And airplanes are not that expensive either, check out ebay. Lots going for around $10k-$20k. Storage and service would be the expensive costs, but those are over time and isn't too bad to handle.

And purge, as to Bikes vs Cars. The person I bought my bike for was selling it so cheap because his racing car's (he actually races and sells parts to underground street racers in the DC area) motor crapped out on him and he needed money to fix it. But as he was selling it to me (was his first bike), he was telling me how once summer comes around, he'll probably sell his car to buy another bike, as he found it much more fun and enjoyable to go fast in a bike vs going fast in a car.

Now, look at this map and tell me which would be more fun to go on, a bike or a car?

Ok, unless your car is in the top 50 list on Top Gear, almost any bike that can go at least 80 (and not a Harley) would be much better than any other car.

I'd do it on a Harley, although for Texas traveling a canoe is best. icon_smile.gif
