Well I've run into a problem that I have not run into before. First of all, I can't boot from my DVD Player. In the BIOS it shows Hard Drive and CDRom drive. It also has an Unknown Device. It says it cannot detect it when I enable it. When I am using it normally on windows it works fine. But the BIOS does not regonize it. My CDRom drive doesn't read CD-RWs, I copied Fedora onto a CD-RW. I figured my DVD Drive is faster and I know it read RWs. How can I make my BIOS reconize it, or possibly make it think the dvd player is my cdrom drive. I have a dell Bios. Not sure on version. A00 i think. It is a Dell Demision B110 with some added RAM and I added a LITE-ON Combo Drive (Thats my DVD Player). The LITE-ON CD Player that came with it works fine.

Another issue is when I have the cd player set to slave it goes slow. Same with the DVD player. The Master goes at fast speeds but the slave is VERY slow. How do i fix this as well?

Any help is appreciated.

-Thanks in advance

Have you looked for any BIOS firmware upgrades?

Yes, I updated all my drivers. This is a new pc too. Everything is up-to-date and entact. It used to work before, then i reformated, but that shouldn't effect the linux cd from booting up at start-up. I checked all the BIOS Settings.
