roit, dunno if anyone else noticed this.

but you know if ur using ur own custom shipset (via ship1.bm2 ship2.bm2, inside an lvz) etc etc

on the new menu where u select your ship..ship1 is the only ship graphic that shows up..the rest go blank...its strange

btw did i explain all of this properly?

The game works, lvz was added in the last release adding lots of new potential so I don't think any more releases are needed, but maybe wanted by most people.

If new features have bugs or don't work properly there should be a new release to fix the bugs. grav_smokin.gif jb_arrow.gif grav_update.gif jb_arrow.gif grav_rock.gif grav_cool-hands.gif

only problem is that there is only one coder that won't release the source

Should continuum go open source? Will it? I think the answer to both would be a no. Open-source games that are played only over a broad network won't last very long. Twister was bad enough, but alteast you could detect most of its cheats pretty quickly.

As for having maybe 5-10 people working on continuum, and maybe opening parts of the source (ie: like ekted doing chat window), that would work. But the actual in-part playing/viewing of the game won't work if opened.

As this forum was designed to be technical assistance free from any influence, i try to stay free to other's opinions and learn from what they say. Discussing of continuum's lack of open-sourceness/developers is best fitted over in a Trash Talk section or another forums such as ssforum.net. But if you wish to discuss it in a section such as here, try to include more information.

As to roof_tiles, i recommend you post that bug over at ssforum.net so priitk would be able to pickup on the bug, as to my knowledge, he doesn't read Server Help.

Bullshit! sa_tongue.gif

Bottom line the source to continuum won't be released, priitk wish to keep all the controls at his hand and many people have an irrational fear of stealthers that will uncloak on us and unleash a new wave of cheating terror (to which I say, Har! Har!).
So let us not delve onto this discussion as it is pointless.
For the mean time, we have grem's open source server and snurrb's client (if anyone will be kind enough to make a win port outta it), so if people are really willing and able, we can have an open sourced SubSpace.
Thing is, that there really aren't that many willing&able programmers (which is why fear of some uber cheaters is silly to begin with, and sage didn't do it to be mean, he only did it to EG and he didn't intend on releasing it all over SS).
