Post subject: The best firewall of these
Hey I was hunting for some free firewalls and came across 2; which of the two are better?

This:

Or
http://www.download.com/Filseclab-Personal-Firewall-Professional-Edition/3000-10435_4-10421598.html?tag=lst-0-5

Or would you recomend another better firewall?

Also any word on the AVG antvirus? Anygood?

Anything free like that is a adware. They both suck.

Zone Alarm sells your IP (something like that) on the internet; why would you want that?

Get McAfee Suite 06 or something, I was satisfied with its performance.

McAfee is a bitch to stop if you don't know how (and need to).

Code: Show/Hide

net stop McAfeeFramework
net stop McShield

You can get by with just using Firefox or Opera, running a virus scan once a week, and keeping windows updated once a week.

My IP is a network mask.
My router IP is non-static.
Go zone alarm. icon_smile.gif
Thus far it's been an excellent firewall as well as antivirus.

What do you mean a bitch to stop?

If it takes 10 minutes for me to explain to someone how to stop their firewall that they don't understand just to remote into their PC, then it's a bitch to stop.

ZoneAlarm for the suck. They disable their buttons when I'm remoted in.
SpecShip - Thu Feb 23, 2006 4:35 am
Post subject:
You're right, they should simply shutdown the entire thing.
If you allow remoting over anything but VPN you're stupid enough to ask for trouble, so why even bother running zonealarm.

No one gonna remote my PC.
