Yeah, I think you can add custom fonts, since it's just a font. Just make sure no pictures are included in your news.txt.
Use wordpad to do this, save this as an .rtf file, then rename to news.txt.

Doesn't the rich text renderer simply choose some default font if it can't find a matching one?

RTF supports embeded fonts, but I don't know of any editors that have that feature.

Don't think you can include fonts.
But nothing stops you from displaying a link for the fonts and having ppl d/l them and install them.
From there on they'll see the desired font.
