I thought to edit your post to fix the tags, then I remembered I can't anymore.
Oh well.

The tags are fine, MGB just disabled BBCode for Spyed for obvious reasons.

And, please, get over it.

Don't ever change your avatar, it's too fitting to your IRL image.

No, seriously, get over it, you've been whining about it since it happened.

Smong actually gave me this image, but...
we know who's talking. It's okay, your issues are no problem on these forums.

Whining? ROFL.
You're too schiso to understand my subtle humor.

Anyway, talk to the hand, obssesed newb.

Lucifer, I don't believe anyone here has laughed or made any comments about your "humor".

I noticed a cocky air to the thread. I was alittle taken back by the whole "argle gargle google goop" thing though. Whats the hell does that have to do with anything? Good work on keeping me interested though.
Solo Ace - Sat Dec 03, 2005 2:11 am
Post subject:
Subtle humor? What you call "humor" isn't even supposed to be considered anything near the definition of that word.

And yes, I'm glad to be a newb instead of such a loser as you are.

Dr. Niles Crane: He's clearly the one dealing with repressed material, not to mention the obvious Oedipal issues.

Whats the price on that beast?
Gus. - Sun Dec 04, 2005 10:41 pm
Post subject:
From the sites i have surfed about this bitch, im getting the impression that it hasnt been priced yet. The estimated release is december 21st I believe. But a person on a forum did make a good point. Do you think your games or graphic cards would look good on that crazy high resolution? I dont know much about this but he sounded convincing.
Mine GO BOOM - Mon Dec 05, 2005 1:58 am
Post subject:
No, but at 1280x800, they'd be kickass and pretty.
THE Lucifer - Mon Dec 05, 2005 11:02 am
Post subject:
Not a very pretty resolution.
I ussualy stick to the higher, more common, standard, they display better (more proportionaly, aesthetically, and better for games).
IIRC and might be wrong (factors of 1.25, 1+1/3 & 1.6):
320 x 256 / 240 / 200
400 x 320 / 300 / 250
640 x 512 / 480 / 400
720 x 576 / 540 / 450
800 x 640 / 600 / 500
1024 x 819 / 768 / 640
1280 x 1024 / 960 / 800
1600 x 1280 / 1200 / 1000
2000 x 1600 / 1500 / 1250
Cyan~Fire - Mon Dec 05, 2005 9:36 pm
Post subject:
The common ones are 640x480 (not really common anymore), 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, and 1600x1200.

I use 1024x768. Used to use 800x600, but I use this resolution in Continuum only.
Cyan~Fire - Tue Dec 06, 2005 3:39 pm

Why would you use a lower resolution for Cont? It only impairs your gameplay.

Actually, I find it easier to play.
When I use 1024, I seem to lag alot more.

Cyan~Fire - Tue Dec 06, 2005 10:12 pm

No, just a better video card. I can't imagine many modern cards would lag on 1027x768, though. It's not one of those onboard steal-system-RAM types, is it?
Dr Brain - Wed Dec 07, 2005 1:24 am

Even those shouldn't lag with Continuum.

More likely it's just old.

I am fine with my computer at the moment. Either way, I don't have to change my resolution.

I might be getting a new computer from Dell or Alienware in the future, but not right now.

When I was a tech at best buy, we had a lot of problems with alienware machines. Maybe theyve improved over the 3-5 years, but I would still steer clear of them.

That site has the resolution for the monitor at 2560 x 1600, which even beats my 1920x1200 that gets me booted in a couple zones before I finish the map download.

Nothing in specific newb, just lots of assorted problems. Almost every one where the customer had the machine shipped to the store we ended up having to fix or do something with.

The one I remember the most was a shipping issue: The case got damaged during shipping, so we had to do a case-transfer in the store (which sucked). The power supply then died like 3 hours after everything was in the new case, and the cute plastic things they put on the video card was broken and the guy demanded a new one.

There was also one where it didnt have the video card in it, so we had to put one in off the shelf.

Lots of shit like that.
