Post subject: My hosting application for NOVA Space Warfare

I'm going to go right ahead and follow 1stStrike's guide exactly:

1. My map: I can't tell you much about it at the moment because I have a friend making a new one for me. My current map is one of those over-used castle bases with a flag at the peak. As for other subarenas, I have a neat javelin map, and my duel map is a straightforward dueling arena with duelboxes.

2. Settings: Not exactly super, but semi-fast paced. Many of the ships are one shot kill. I think my love of bombing ships has adversely affected the settings... most ships have some sort of bomb.

3. The purpose of my zone? Well, to be honest, it was originally constructed as a dueling zone for my friends and I, because we were sort of disappointed when we found we could only duel so many times in the Trench Wars dueling arena. But I decided to also make it a "base wars" type zone, where a team must hold the flag for a specified period of time to win (also TW influenced). I have also implemented some other fun subarenas, and I'm always looking for/making ideas for new ones. So, there really is no set game type.

4. Bots? Currently, i'm using MERVBot to run the main Capture the Flag game, the duel, and the elim games. If I was hosted, these are the 3 bots I'd need, but I'm willing to redo my duel map and squeeze it down to 1 bot (even though these 3 run through the same bot terminal).

5. Extra features... not many. I don't really have a use for many LVZs at the moment, but I may make a custom shipset. The zone was constructed more for the gameplay, not for the fancy extras.

I have so much respect for you now. See folks, this is a guy that can read. You all should learn from his example.

If you could, post some screenshots of your map so we can take a look. You're on the right track so far.

Heh, I don't really see why more people can't just do that... it makes things so easy. You can compare it to filling out an outline vs. writing a whole report. I chose the outline >_>

He never posted any screenshots. For all I know the zone itself could be a let down. I try not to have too much faith in zone owners these days.

..ok definitly work on your map. It's just way too..empty. And the base that is there isn't much of a base.
