Quan, you are such an idiot. To hex edit a program, you not only need to know a language (ASM) but you need to know how to read machine code, which is pretty well impossible.

Machine code is just assembly without the mnemonics.

Purge does it.. anyone can do it. Anyway there are tutorials to tell you what things mean. A teacher tells me things in school. He gives kme tips. I read tutorials. Thats all you need. Just download a hex editor and learn how to use it. You can use it to cheat on games

EDIT:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machine_language

That just looks mainly like binary to me..

Whats the BIG deal? You make it seem like its impossible to read..

Assembly language was made for human beings to be able to read according to wikipedia.. Whats the BIG deal in that?

I personally think that that post you made was JUST to put me down. Mabye I'm wrong.. If I am.. oh well.. life goes on.. get over it

Hey, it's not like I hexedit Google Earth or something. I stick with something consistent like maps (.lvls) to place those darned special tiles without having to use another program, which gets 100% CPU usage on my computer or crashes. sa_tongue.gif

Hex editing data files is completely different from programs

Yes, but you're telling me that you can change machine code manually? I doubt it. I guess I could see a change to something in the data segment, but definitely not an addition of a whole new function in the code segment, as Quan suggests.

Deleting the data from the files would be less efficient than just implementing the feature in the biller indeed.
I wanted to piss some of the people here off by writing it in a .bat script, but that's a little hard with binary data. sa_tongue.gif

Quan Chi2, why don't you take this forums a little more serious? icon_confused.gif
You don't seem to take it a bit serious, even though you are getting help from other members.

Adding functions in would require changing of all the memory locations after the stuff you add. Not something easily done by hand in a hex editor.

As for the doing it by hand... it's not hard to change one instruction to a different one. A JNE to a JE (it's been a while, excuse me if my mnemonics aren't right) for example.

What about a memory hacker?

Mind control device? Hm... You may have something there...

Optical illusions can get people to see things differently like pictures. Hidden sounds can do that sometimes. Mabye.. just mabye I can work something out with Continuum.

I could flash pictures(full screen) and play wierd techno-trance music with commands in the background said by me. I could get everyone to post "Hello Im Fred." on this forum. That will be the test. Then I can move on to bigger, better things like destroying certain websites or destroying people. This plan could fall. I have some time. I should try it.

The day you could get me to say, "Hello Im Fred" is the day that will never come.

I was about to implement it, but Purge+ convinced me not to do so. Good job Purge.
